My Lewmar/Simpson Lawrence Sprint 600 windlass gave out last weekend and I can't figure out what the problem is. It sounds like the motor still runs when I press either the up or down button, but the gypsy won't turn. I have checked/tried to tighten the clutch, but it is tight as far as it will go. I just took the windlass off the boat to disassemble it in order to determine what may be the cause of my problem. Does anyone on this forum have any ideas that might help me pinpoint the problem?
