I have an old Simpson-Lawrance windlass which has a solenoid in the anchor locker. There is a foot switch and a dash switch. I assume that both switches are suppose to trigger the solenoid. However, only the foot switch will operate the windlass. The dash switch makes the solenoid click but no windlass movement. I suspect that the foot switch is wired to bypass the solenoid and that the soleniod is bad.
I searched Boatfix for a solenoid, but did not see one that like the one on the boat. What solenoid should I use?
