I bought a used boat last year (1990 Bayliner Avanti 3785). One of the front windshield windows was broken (port side), had been replaced with plexi that had since cracked. The dealer promised to replace it by spring.

I'm now told that they can't get one (I confirmed with Bayliner and a bunch of others that this windows isn't available). It's slightly curved, so remaking a mold for it is apparently very expensive and time consuming.

They are offering to put a lexan window in place of it. I'm not convinced that the lexan is going to work for me and the dealer isn't really offering me anything to compensate me for not being able to replace the glass.

Is Lexan as good as glass? Can they bend it so it won't crack like the last one did? How long should it last?

Thanks for any help or advice.
