I just got my bill. I change may own oil but the bill includes pulling my boat, blocks and jackstand, winterization of both motors, winterization of the fresh water system, shrink wrap and spring commisioning. The boat is 32', 11.5' beam with a flybridge.

My price has not changes in three years ($1837). What do you pay?

Around $700 and I do it all myself and 3 of us work together and shrink our own boats

The boat got lifted out about 10am Saturday morning and I walked away from it last night around 6pm. It is done and ready for the winter.

Niles

$400 - winterization supplies...antifreeze, 32X60 shrink wrap sheet, tape and banding
$100 - our clubs on-site storage fee
$85 - crane rental
$72 - oil
$14 - 20lb propane

I do most work myself but I have it hauled and wrapped.

Oil for oil change $ 320
filters $ 100
antifreeze $ 90
Haul and storage $1408
Shrinkwrap $ 748
Total $2666

I winterize water systems and motors change the oil and filters both oil and fuel.
This year will cost a little more because I will have the yard do the transmissions.

I pay $1,000 for storing and wrap. I do the water system, engines, air myself.

$540....just hauling, power washing the bottom, blocking, and winter storage. I winterize the engines, water systems, and AC myself, and wrap her with a tarp myself, too.

$200/month for covered slip at boatyard.
No winterization, except to put a heater in the engine room.

We pay around $3,000 for indoor heated storage(with backup generators) including haul/launch, bottom wash and blocks. We drain the fresh water systems and pump out/clean the black water but do not have to winterize anything. I am changing fluids/filters etc this weekend and the boat will likely get pulled the first or second week of November depending on the weather. Our boat is billed at 41x14.

32Carv, that price sounds pretty good. In this area people charge around 250 dollars per engine to change oil and winterize. I can't afford that, so do all winterizing and oil changes, materials alone add up.
Winter storage was $1150.
Shrink wrap will be $660.
All together with everything and me doing a lot of work, over 2000 bucks. This is the worst time of year to be a boat owner up here in the cold Northeast.

Jim, ya might want to talk to Bruce about next winter, I think he'd be a little less.
Have a nice winter, see you in the spring.

Bob,
I have thought about it but Greg and Stacy have alway been great with us when something mechanical happens. They are good people just like Bruce and Mary so I feel more comfortable splitting our business.
Jim

Jim,
I think your price seems fair, in my neck of the woods it would be a great price. PS, having a yard in your corner to jump on problems quickly IMHO is worth paying a few bucks more, especially if they do good work.

Audrey II what oil are you using that costs $320? that seems high.

I pay $675 for a whole year of storage for 35 ft on the hard and pay $50 each way to be launched and retrieved each trip. (it is a great system for the way we use her).

The shop charges $281 to winterize twins and they gouge you on the antifreeze but there are a lot of reasons i just have them do it. But i do my own oil changes etc.

The shop charges a whopping $178 per engine to change impellers not including the impeller so you know I do that myself.

$ 686 - Haulout and Powerwash
$ 140 - Oil and filters for Genny and Engines
$ 24 - Pink Stuff
$ 40 - Stabil
$1000 - Shrink Wrap to rub rail, Wax below rub rail.

$1890 - Total and I do winterization but not shrink wrap (includes spring launch)

I can't speak for Dave, but in my case, Caterpiller DEO(diesel engine oil) is about $20 gal in 5gal buckets
I use 17-18 gals to do the Mains & GenSet- my math says about $350 just for oil

I now realize you guys have big boats, but still i had no idea they took that much oil. My 454 Crusaders only take 5 qts each for oil change, so I guess I should not complain. I use Rottella T 15W-40 at $14 per gallon.

My diesels hold 5 gallons each. I use Rotella at about $13/gallon.

All winter in the water behind my house... $0

Winterizing... $0

If I had to pay what some of you folks are, I'd sell the barge and buy a kayak.

I hold 7 gallons per and I paid 17 per for Rotella. I buy 17 gallon to cover both motors and the Generator.

i do all my own winterization, so material costs only. as well as $350 haulout / transport. this year we'll store on our property for the first time. looking forward to not paying someone else for that. a few years back i invested in a canvas cover for the boat. i was sick of throwing money away every year on shrink wrap. payback is about 4 years.

haul it 320...back in 320...power wash me. oil changes 100 me...fuel filter changes 30 me....shrink wrap $ 100 me.....water systems head etc 30 me... wax paint bottom 500 others....bottom paint 300..zincs 45 me...fuel tank additive 24 ..me. good nite total for winter 1769 time about 2 days.
boat is 34x12 searay 1986. btw it is kept in my yard so I can do whatever and whenever and hire whoever.
