I'm buying a used boat that is currently in the water in Noroflk, Va (Cruisers Yachts, 280 CXI, T-Volvo 4.3L). The boat has not been winterized since it is in the water. However, when I close in about two weeks, the boat will be stored on land, still in Norfolk. Do I need to winterize it at this point in time? Some locals say they don't get the damaging "hard freeze" that require winterization, and others say land storage requires winterization. I'm inclined to play it safe and winterize, but would like to hear other opinions. Thanks.
