wireless Camera's

The new HD over coax is 1.3 mega pixel and about as good as analog gets but HD is not a standardized format so that cameras only work with the same brand DVR the playback is almost as good as IP the nice thing is there is no need to run new cables to do an upgrade. As for cameras on boats this presents a different issue, most display units that I know of do not have anyway to display IP camera making it not very practical for use as a backup or engine room camera unless you have a tablet display at the helm (I do not). I like having my cameras on my GPS and then having them record with the ability to remote view live and playback it just about as good as it gets! I can't wait to update my cameras I will find something with a decent picture but it won't be HD or IP quality. When I did my original install I just installed whatever I have laying around in my garage, not much thought went into it.
 
I just ordered a switch so I can display the cameras on my salon tv as well what the heck it was only $15 with a wireless remote.
 
How long do these cameras work on battery before having to replace them or are they rechargeable?

Dave , They say a long time as they are lithium batteries. im up and running 2 weeks. The cameras on the street record constantly and are down 1/4 . The cams at home are still full battery . ( alot less action )

What happened to Netgear's "Vuezone"? I have 20 cameras in four locations in three states. Batteries go for about 6 months and cost about US$1 each using one for camera and one for motion sensing (if fitted). About US$200 for initial package (each base station) then $60 per camera and $100 for motion sensitive camera. I can watch on my cellphone.
 
Dlink has a service too and we already have dlink cameras.
I think the goal is to find a better service with DVR recording.
I know they have the recording but it costs per month.
