1986 Gibson Houseboat, new to me this year.
The original holding tank is not being used. I can only assume that it leaked. Instead of replacing the old tank, a previous owner installed a replacement tank in the storage area aft of the forward sleeping cuddy. Easily accessible, but on the port side of the boat, not centered, like the old tank. Our boat leans a little to the port side.
I am thinking about elimintating the newer holding tank by replacing the old tank with one that would fit in its place, thus returning the boat to its original configuration, and opening up more storage.
What do you think? It would be a DIY project.
We are going to tear up the old carpet this winter, leaving the floor above the old tank exposed, and ready for removal.
Worth the time and $$ or not?
