WOW screwed with again

This topic needed a kick in the tail so....

I read in newsday that a woman won a 13 million dollar law suit against a town for an single car auto accident. She drove off the road in bad weather and hit a tree.....

Yes she was hurt ( she did get stopped by a tree ) but how is a town responsible for a single auto accident.

Rob, I got to believe although it was a single car accident there must have been negligence on the town’s part relating to previous incidents / accidents. Let’s face it, any town attorney would not just roll over and hand 13million over. The woman’s attorney must have had overwhelming evidence proving to a judge and jury that there was ample time for the town to correct a potential accident. This is of course IMHO…

According to the article, there were numerous accidents there and a judge in a previous case ruled that stretch of road to be unsafe. Someone else was awarded $3million for an accident in the same spot.

I woulden't trade place with her if they offered me a billion dollars.

I think I read she will need something like 8 more surgeries.

Welcome back... I love Aruba also.. I would do the ABC, but in the BCA order SCUBA diving is a bit better in Bonaire and Curaçao, but in Aruba we stayed a few years in a row at Hyatt after the diving.
 
Ok so explain to me how a road becomes defective .... and the driver is unable to adapt ....

Hogan we are so screwed.... its like we got VD or something...

Walt... I showed serious restraint in NBR..... I could have salted an old wound .. but i let it lay..... I think a cash payment to me is called for ....

I'll second Bonaire but all we did was stop in A for the airport. Hopped over to B from there. We stayed at Harbor Village. Did a drift snorkel around quite a bit of Kline Bonaire and some scuba. I think it was from the North end all the way around to the East end.
It was kinda dead there at night tho.
