Spent Saturday in tobay. Beautiful day. A few minutes after we docked a Center console came into the marina on plan then just came off but plowing all the way tru the marina. As the stare down started i get what ... WHAT ... its not boating season yet .. ARE U A FING RETARD ? Apparently so. ... Yep i wont miss these D bags one bit .

Next time grab some video and call the cops.
Morons need to know that there are consequences.
What if knocked someone into water after wake hit a boat not expecting it.

I'm at a marina in a 5 mph zone. 5 mph is a thing of the past. Boats that are going 5 mph or better, out number the people that obey the law. This is especially annoying because most people, are just going to the end of the river, and turning around to drive passed me again. I don't understand the rush.
Then there are the boats that are pulling half the harbor with them. When your wake rocks my 45' Chris Craft, you are going too fast. Staring and yelling does absolutely no good. I've thought about putting one of those flashing speed signs up, but I don't want the attention.
Oh, by the way, the speeding boats include other marina owners, Ferry Boats, Bay Constables and Suffolk Police. The worst are the U.S.Park Ranger boats who routinely are leaving a wake large enough to knock my boat around the slip.
I think I'm just getting old and cranky like my grandfather was. He used to throw sinkers at boats and had more than one stand off with a fellow boater. He had been a Coast Guard Auxiliary Commander.
Try not to let it ruin your day

You should hook up some sort of speed meter to a water gun.
If they go by too fast they get squirted!

We took videos of people screwing off. The problem you might run into is if they get nailed and recognize you, there might be a subsequent issue.

Had a guy come down the canal at full speed on a jet ski last year. I was in the cabin, heard and felt it, ran out just in time to see him hit the bay. About a half hour later I was in the cockpit and he came back in the canal on plane again. I jumped in the car, raced up to the other side of the canal to where he stopped and confronted him.
In retrospect, it was probably stupid to confront him. It could have gotten ugly. Especially since he was less than half my age. But my temper and adrenaline got the best of me.

Last spring I watched a guy coming running up hudson canal in Freeport on plane, made the mistake of screaming 5mph a$$hole. My son was 5 at the time. Still asks me every time were at the boat if we’re going to see the guy who went up the canal to fast and was an a$$hole.

We've all dealt with the never ending inconsiderate bunch of idiots we share the water ways with. I usually give them the whistle with a slow down yell. Some comply, some flip the bird, some ignore you. We try to stay away from idiots but they seem to be everywhere!
That's sad about your son having to learn so young. One my daughters came in the house after being out with my wife and my daughter says Dad you wouldn't believe what Mom did! So I asked my wife and she says some SOB cut me off so I hit the horn and flipped him off while calling him a fking ahole. She says it was then I realized the kids were in the back seat. We all still get a laugh about it 20 years later.

F U me first Long Island attitude. Everywhere you go by car or boat or even in a store.

Not just a LI thing. In SoFlo Sit at a local dock and dine where it is an idle zone and 90% of boats passing are throwing a wake. Unless the Sheriff is around. Then they miraculously discover where idle is on the throttles.

Its really sad.. worst part is I end up in a fight with the wife over loosing my cool.

Our nation is infected with the me first FU attitude. Probably stemming from their early training and pandering by politicians.

Bruce , I SO AGREE .. Just open a paper any day for proof.

Occasionally there is a reason for coming in hot to a marina. 2 years ago while at Hemlock at a raft up my 8 year old sliced her foot on a prop of an outboard, (was not running) and we could see all the ligaments and bones in her foot. It was an insane wound that ended up needing surgery ,60 stitches, with ligament and tendons needing repairing, plus a nicked bone. We put her on my friends 24 foot bow rider and he flew to my marina about 4 miles away. My wife was with us and is a nurse and wanted to get her to her hospital for the best care. My boat was in the middle of the raft up so I stayed behind to unhitch, plus my boat is a lot slower and bigger. I did pay mind to the 5 mile an hour zones, but may have pushed it a little. Moral to the story was lots of people were yelling at him but it was a medical emergency. Anyway I agree lots of people are in a rush for know reason.

One other thing I learned that day is that in this situation I could have left my boat there at anchor and Towboat US would have responded and brought my boat back to the marina for me.

Land and Sea, the lack of respect today is troubling to say the least. On land, you hold a door open for someone and they can't say "thank you". Your driving and allow someone to come on the road or make a turn, would a wave thanking you kill you?

When ever I hold a door open for someone & don't get a thank you; I always say you're WELCOME !

I posted on FB the other day my frustration on Amtrak trains.
So in Philly we wait on line and new people head straight to the end of the line.
In New York the line turns into a balloon and people just go straight in without waiting on line.
So it really is a state thing in a way.
Once when driving in Michigan, there was 2 roads merging with white lines solid to not cross from one road to the other.
The right side was all backed up
The left side was wide open.
I was saying to myself, why is no one crossing the white lines to go left and get ahead, because in NY, that is what they would do.
I was told in Michigan they never do that.
They also stop dead when they hear a siren and pull over, in NY we think about moving over but plot how we can get behind the ambulance to get ahead faster.

LOL,
I use to do that, just not in any hurry anymore
