WTF Still NO Hardtop

Well hardtop came to the boat today to be installed, been a long wait and I was actually excited. weather was good this morning, installer was there early, bost yard ready everything was finally falling into place.

Before the installer hauls the hardtop up to the bridge, he starts taking measurements.

Comes back down from the bridge and tells me the hardtop will not fit under the arch, they measured wrong and will need to build a new one.

Now if that aint a WTF, I don't know what is.

Really disappointed.

On a good note, the quality of the top exceeded my wildest expectations.

I bet me and Dave could have made it fit ...............after a few beers !!!!!

Let's see:

- Sawz-all to cut the tubing
- Nail gun to fasten it.
- Beers

Yeah, we could of done this!
 
......just cut the top of the radar arch off...........install the top........5200 and a few nails......put the piece back on............all done.

have a few beers...........................looks fine !!!

I am sure they can use it for another Silverton without the arch!
Someone's gonna get a sweet deal.
 
If any of you guys are sawzall happy feel free to come over and shorten my leaning post pedestals so I can put seats on them!
 
No, that guy has the same arch.
But that is the same boat and that looks like the Anchorage.
Look at that price! Wow, that is cheap.

It has small blocks, so actually it is not cheap. I still can't believe they offered this bost with small blocks.

Atlantic Towers is telling me 2 weeks, they will have the new top. I hope this is true.

Walter I hate to tell you this, but they pulled a bait and switch on you. It happens all the time, your top should have been built already. The guy you bought the top from is running behind, (maybe in more ways than one). They bring a top over that they KNOW belongs on another boat. They find the "error" and will have another one built. As soon as they leave, they go to a marina down the street and install the top on the real boat. It is all smoke, mirrors, and the squeaky wheel got some oil. :-O

Dave......... Sometimes Jack Regan will list a boat thats off site and if your interested in seeing it..............drives you to it. A buddy of mine bought a 23' Grady White like that.......... Regan listed it but it was at the LIYC ( the place that Rob hangs out at ? )

I know, but it looks like the same boat (equipment on the arch) and small block motors. The other thing is the table is missing in the photos. The guy from Brad's yacht club told me he never uses the table and prefers the room without it.
This is why I am thinking it is his boat.

Wow Ken, that's a good theory. I bet that's exactly what happened! It wouldn't have occured to me...

You can see the boat is in the AYC by the picture of the boat and the finger pier.
LIYC does not have those nice finger piers that AYC has. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
I am sure LIYC is a very nice place and that is why Rob is always hanging out there.
It's just not for me. I prefer a lower class marin, like AYC.

That's a good theory but that is all it is. I used them in the past and had no problem whatsoever. As Walter posted before, their installers are contractors and not Atlantic employees. I would find it hard to believe that the installer, who had to travel to the installation site is in on a bait and switch. He isn't getting any additional money out of Walter and it seems like Atlantic would have to pay him for his time. That seems unlikely.

My guess is that it was made wrong and now Walter will jump into the line ahead of others who will now be delayed in their delivery.

Yes that is the boat and at the LIYC... It does have the 5.7's but the boat is so vary clean. They take very good care of it. I knew he was thinking about selling it, but not this aggressive.
