I've pretty well made up my mind to start looking for a used Yamaha 9.9 hp motor to use as a spare/trolling motor for my 16 ft center console boat because of the good reputation of that motor with the lower gears and large, flat pitch prop. When I got to researching it, I found several versions of the thing with different model numbers. What is the difference between them ??
I've also had major problems even finding used motors. Where is the best place to look ?? I'd also like to find a 70 hp 2 stroke around 4 or 5 years old, to upgrade from the 50 hp Tohatsu on there now. The Tohatsu is a great motor, strong, economical and dependable, but just not quite enuf snoose for the job.
