this Sturgeon was caught recently in the Willamette River, just below Oregon City in the Portland area. It measured 11'1" long and weighed over 1,000 lbs.
It took 4 guys 6 hours taking turns on the rod, and they went through 4 dozen beers. It was released alive; it is oversized and not a keeper. And it's older than these guys, too.

How did that fish down all those beers? Crazy world...

most of the sturgeon guides are strictly catch/release now and make you sign the form before you go. I can't say I've ever seen one even close to that big though.

My brother got a 350 pounder recently. Used to be good up near Bonneville. Havn't been out there for a long long time.

Wow, 4 dozen beers, that's impressive!

recently recieved the same photo saying it was caught in South Haven Michigan, same four cases of beer.

Pick a River.

Do a Google on "Sturgeon, "4 dozen beers""

Did you find your River?

My Fraser is at the top of the list!

The son of a friend--Steve Gruber-Outdoor America on the Outdoor Network, did a show on the Columbia River 3-4 years ago. They had one up to the boat that measured slightly more than 8ft. My friend was known as "The General" on his American Bird Hunter shows. Unfortunately my friend died a couple of years ago. Tom Knapp of Benelli Shotguns now does the show.

Hey, is that Roger Clemens back by the fin? (4th from right) No wonder the fish is so big. Better have another senate hearing on this!
