God luck! Hope it fits at PB. Do they have a size restriction there or will you fit in the same slip you have?
 
Dan, that is the $64 question. No, it won't fit in my slip, but hopefully, in one of the others. My neighbor has offered to swap slips, so beamwise it will fit, but it's a question of how far into the fairway it juts.
 
Here's to hoping it works out! I know we sweated that out with Freedom back in 2000.

You're going to love diesels when it comes to docking. That is assuming they are not of the high revving ilk.

John, I am under strict orders that unless it can fit at PBM, I am not allowed to buy it. I trust that the good folks at PBM will find a way to fit me in.

Mike if you do plan on taking your new baby up to NY by water I have a great Captain who just helped me move my new boat up from Wilmington NC. He was very experienced & friendly plus he taught us a lot. He also has a lot of interesting stories from his days as a customs agent. As an added bonus his politics agree with yours. If you would like more specific info please let me know.

Mike it is not Wayne - he is on the Victoria Marie. I am Bill who is on D Dock with Victoria's Secret II our new Silverton 38 SportBridge. People always get us confussed when I post.
 
Fuel and dockage is going to run over $8000 for that trip no doubt in my mind. Plus the time.

Truck is a few days and less money.
 
OK, I got it now. I just saw Victoria and assumed it was Wayne!

I am more than likely gonna truck it up. I'm getting prices for trucking.
 
I am sure they will need to dismantle a good amount of it to truck it up, and then you need to hope the put it back together correctly. All the wire connections and keeping it watertight. If you have the time and can run 8-10 hours per day it is a great trip. Good luck with the purchase.
 
Yes it was expensive for us as well. That's why we left Freedom South this summer so we could do the Bahamas again next Winter. I've seen trucks come into our marina with large boats. Basically anything that restricts verticle clearance is removed and stowed lower on the boat. Sometimes that includes the helm station. It can be quite a project and makes me wonder about incidental scratches etc.. References would be appropriate.
