It was a pleasure meeting you folks! You are welcome to raft up with us anytime! But it's our turn to buy!

Thanks Dan, not to sound to corny but the pleasure was all ours, keep in touch all the best , Jon

just got back in ...little windy & bumpy in haverstraw bay late in the afternoon but calmed down nice at sunset, there were alot of boats out there tonight too, was nice to see all the red and greens cruising around , except for the moron who kept buzzing around with his docking lights on?
Maybe see some of you guys hanging out watching the poker- run tomorrow, good weekend all......Jon

We're taking our lumps now. Pretty good squall.

Hey Dan ,
You guys gonna be around durring this week ? Thinking of taking my little sister up to the creek for a day or two propably tues. wends. leave thurs.am she has a few days off comming up this week and wants to go kyacking, so i figure the creek would be a nice spot for that.

Yes it should be. We are working and will be in and about.. Maybe working from the boat. We also have folks working on the boat so not sure if we are doing much this week. Just got back in on a short shake down cruise. I finished up the inverter this weekend, reinstalling the walls and dressing up some cables. Things are shaping up.

Good to hear your getting thinsgs in ship-shape ,be nice to see you guys and mabey have a beer but i understand how buisy things get i'll look for though and let ya know before we head up, my brother is over seas and i am starting to get worried about him he was supposed to be back yesterday and mom and the rest of us havent heard from him in about five days he promised to call every day so i ain't going nowhere till i hear from him , i'm probably just panicing for nothing (big brother syndrome i guess) but starting to worry a bit.
best whishes , Jon

That sounds like an idea... Are you guys going for sure or just thinking about it ?
If so when is FREEDOM heading north ? I 'd like to head up but can't say for sure yet myself. Bernadette left yesterday for Florida to go see her mom for 2 weeks , so I'm solo and up for a boat ride anytime.
It sounds like a good excuse to check that anchorage out , I always wanted to go back in there and relax on the hook , from what KD said it nice and quiet back there, I thought he said on another thread he couldn't make it this weekend but am not 100% sure.

Good to see ya again Dan even though it was brief. G lad to hear you got out, when I saw FREEDOM gone sat.morning we were going to head up and look for you. After breakfast the heat kept us in the pool and we pretty much just drank and swam all day,I guess we got lucky on the micro bursts by not getting any, sounds like you had a bit of an adventure to say the least. Just got in around an hour ago myself , Im shot and ready for bed.
Hope you guys had fun overall anyway.... Jon

Indeed it was a blast. We were caught in three micro bursts that at worst had 60mph winds. We saw trees ripped up by the roots along the shoreline by Hotaling Island. It's got us rethinking the size of the anchor we use. We must have plowed a furrow 1/8 mile long. Fortunately the winds pretty much blew north and south so we were not going to hit the shoreline immediately. As I type the rugs on the boat are still completely soaked.
But we managed to have a good birthday party for a friend and also learn more about anchoring with multiple boats. Wow, did we have a snarled mess on Sat. night. Since we dragged so much we threw out a second anchor. Between the tides and micro bursts swinging us around things were well wrapped up. It took us two hours to clear it up and reset them.
All in all, the shake down went very well and we probably will have a couple more. The boat was miserly with fuel running at the break neck speed of 9+ knots.

Guys, Yup, I was camping for the weekend with the Cub Scouts.

Good to hear that you had a good time.

I will be around this weekend and up for meeting up if anyone is around.

Going up to Champlain aug. 19th till sept. 2nd , gonna be staying local till then . But I will wave when passing coeymans up and back and aint gonna have time on this run to stop and, say hi as I am gonna try to make it from stony point to fed lock in under 4 hrs.

We will catch up with you before the seasons gone though KD ,and I won't forget something Canadian for ya.

Good man for helping out the Cub scouts , I know a lot of Marines who started out learning good values that way including myself ,hope you guys had a great camping trip ! That one brought back alot of good memories.

Best whishes all, Jon

Dan,
It was great seeing you and Deb today. Freedom is looking good. We had a good ride back and even went thru a safety check just north of Poughepsie. They had eight boats out stopping anything that moved. Said it was a federal funded opeation so I guess there will be quite a few boardings this weekend. We are hoping to maybe head up again once it cools off. Who knows we meet up again, if not the carpet will be out for you guys when you head down.

Hey Butch that sounds great.

I have to admit we were caught by surprise! Here I am walking along the path to the office so we can head out the dock to Freedom. I look up on the dock by the office and I see this friendly face and I think to myself, I know this lady, but I need a little more to know for sure. Know what I mean? And then it happens. I see this big smile from the 'Gov talking about how he should be allowed to hang on the fuel dock but only because he's with the S.O. not me.... Hmm...

But I'm not exactly innocent either. Ask your son. HA!

Any time Gov! Come on up. Like I said, we will be down that way on the way south. Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can meet up with the southern contingency!
