Just splached the "new" boat. Lots of questions. Here's six.

1) The Teleflex port throttle won't stay in position. It keeps dropping down to idle. Does something need tightening or --?

2) I think I should rebed some or all stantions. Anyone done this on a 330?

3) There is a "rubber" molding on the outside of the windshield not on the window but in an aluminium track. Mine is worn and torn. Any thoughts on where to find a replacement?

4)I ran the boat for about an hour and found some water in the center aft bilge. Dry to the right and left, just at the transom below the big zinc and at the through hull. It did not extend forward to the engines or as I said to the sides. I'm guessing that means the water probably did not come from the through hulls for the drive shafts or rudders. Might be the the drain plug or zincs, or -----???

5)On my big old aft cabin I would hook up a hose to a connector on the back of the boat. This gave me city water powered by its own pressure. I never filled the great big tank.
Am I right that to have water on the 330 I must fill the tank and that the pressure is provided by an electric pump (in there somewhere)?

6) There are three batteries. Two are under a seat, one is in the bilge aft to starboard. What service does each provde.

Many thanks for any thoughts you experienced owners can provide.

The Teleflex control has a couple of adjustment screws under the plastic cover. They are friction type screw adjusters...one for throttle tenshion...one for idle stop...one for full throttle stop.

The windshield frame are made by Taylor....check their web site.
Maybe you can remove them and flip them over.....the back side are usually in better shape.

Thanks, Don. I 'll try Taylor. They are to far gone to flip.

7) I've never had a Sealand V-Flush. I know where things go when I flush. But is the water that comes IN the head from the fresh water tank or is it from the lake??? Thanks, J

If you want dockside water, the inlet is inside the starboard locker in the cockpit. For some reason, SeaRay thought you'd enjoy having carpet in there, so make sure your hose connections don't leak before you give it any water pressure.

The hose can be routed through the door, under the seat and through the transom via the stbd scupper.

The new style filler for the windshield track is a rubber J-channel. It looks a lot better than the original foam - even when the foam was new. RO "Sidelite" replaced his this year and it made a huge difference. He may have ordered his from the dealer though. He mentioned that it was expensive.

I've seen several battery configs on 330's, so you'd be best off to experiment on your own and see how yours is laid out. With only 3 batteries, I'm going to assume that you don't have a generator? If that's the case, my money would be that that ER batt serves as the stbd starting battery, and the two under seat (IF they're in parallel) share port-starting and house duties.

Bliss,

Do you have a genset? Where is it mounted? If you do, here's most likely battery config. The ones under the seat base: The port one if for the port engine and house loads. The stb if for the stb engine and windless. The one in the engine compartment is most likely for the genset if you have one. If you don't, that one is probably wired in parelle to your port engine/house battery to add extend your battery capacity for the house loads. Turn the battery switches off and see what works and what does not. Your battery indicator on the elec panel will indicate the house batter first.

The shore water hook-up is not one of SR's best designs. Per above, you get water in that compartment, but the hose running through the cockpit was a pain. You can't open the engine hatch, people trip over it, etc. I relocated mine to the transom trunk. A hour or so of work and $20 in parts. It works much better for me.

The trottle adjustment is a piece of cake as outlined above.

I too was wondering about my stanchions. I was going to pull a few screws and see how they looked, but I could not ANY of mine loose to remove them. All were tights. They might be through bolted?

Larry, I've never seen SeaRay parallel batteries together that weren't physically near each other - on any model. (I can't say that it's never been done, but I haven't seen it) If your boat has parallel batteries in different areas of the boat, is it possible that it's a post-factory mod?

note: you don't have to run the hose through the cockpit, just along the stbd side of the cockpit and out the scupper - no-one will trip and the hatch will still open.

RE: #5 I found the carpeted locker. Yes, it hooks up just like my old one. It tempts me to run the water to say the fender locker and get it outside where it belongs. Maybe next winter.

RE:#6 No generator and yes the two under the seat are in parallel.

Thanks, j

Bliss, I used a shortcut that mitigated the wet carpet issue. Just cut a hose to a length that allows it to attach to the inlet and reach through the scupper. Consider that hose "permanent", and attach dockside water from the transom. The carpet will stay dry and it'll only cost you 5 mins of time and $3 in parts.

I even carried it over to the 400, which HAS the inlet in the transom locker. I like to use quick-connect fittings, but I didn't like the stress on the pressure regulator from the leverage that the extended fittings addded, so I use 2' of hose within the locker and attach the quick fittings to that.

I was never a big fan of having my shore water hookup " inside " the boat. My last 2 boats I re-plumbed it to the ouside.....

like this :

I think I'll do both; saving the re-plumb for later as there are other projects that are on the list. Thanks, j
