36 Gulfstar Mark II trawler updates

Back on the sat tv, consider how the boat rolls, bobs etc.. It could be that while at rest any movement at the dock or on anchor could roll the boat and severely pixilate the reception. If I can do that on Freedom with our rig (Track-It) I am willing to bet a beer that you can do it on this boat. Especially if the dish is mounted up high.
 
Pascal - I will give the 36" 110v refrigerator/freezer that came with the boat a try. I will have wiring set up for both 12v and 110v and have it built in where a 12v unit can easily replace it. I may power it from a $200 1000/2000 peak pure sime wave inverter dedicated to it. Should that inverter fail I will be able to plug it into the primary inverter that runs to most outlets.

Dan & Pascal - you are both using DirecTV, right? So your dishes are looking west to 110 & 119? I will be using Dish Network and looking at their eastern arc of birds (specifically 72.7). With my small AzTrax dish I was fine as far as Hopetown. Elevation was the only challenge as it needed to be pointed quite high.

But seriously, I have 101, 110 and 119.
 
You're looking at 3 satellites at one time, which is hard to do even when stationary. I'm only looking for one satellite, which is easier. Dish has birds along side DirecTV at 110 and 119. But the Eastern Arc group (61.5, 72.7 and 77) have all the same content (90% of what I watch is on 72.7) and are easier to receive signal from in, well, the east. In the below graphic the yellow shaded area is Eastern Arc. Blue is 110 & 119.

We had zero issues receive Miami local channels in the Abacos and farther South.

Again, if the boat rolls when you move around expect pixilation and more with Trac-It. Especially if I am aboard.
