NC, its been that way for a while now. Noreasters have torn that area up pretty good.

JV, anyone that is towing anything in the Cut knows the other boats have to stay up on plane. Only guys I slow down for are TowBoat or SeaTow out of respect. But they seem to only use the cut to tow at high tide out of respect. I try to get a visual on the cut traffic before I enter if possible. Usually helps.
 
One more thing... at least 2-3 times throughout the season I see or hear of a jetskier that tries to blast through the areas outside the Cut (west and east) at low tide and they crack a few ribs in the process. At high tide the "flats" oustide the Cut are a beautiful jet ski ride. ONLY at high tide!!! Lots of cool creeks and stuff to fly through. Makes it seem like you are in the Everglades without the crocs.

They are now teaching people how to Kiteboard in the flat area/ cove just east of the cut. Cool thing to see.
