Dont mess with the DEP or DEC........they can't take a joke !!!

Went down today and found a slip I think is good for me and just wanted to get the ins and outs for it. First off I looked at D64 and just as you said Dave it was littered with floating debri so that was out. I liked F34. The racks are off to the side of it so they are not behind me and it is not too far from the pool for the kids. F 30 was a couple of hundred cheaper but the racks are behind it. It is right where you turn to go to the office plus the finger is on the port side which is where my transom entrance is. If anyone there can let me know if I will be good in F 34 or a reason it is a bad location please comment. Maybe bad dock mates? If all is goood I will go back down tomorrow with a check. Thanks
Al

Sounds like a good spot. I know there are some party people over there, so be prepared.
Only other issue is people speeding by to get to D dock!

I will bring some spike strips home to take care of that problem.

Walter why don't you hook them up with a video system maybe a lease system would help with the budget:) Then you can log on and keep an eye on the boats. I'm temped to set something up on my boat just to keep an eye on things, not that we have problems but you never know.

Dave,
The problem is "wiring" everything is underground.

Was there a few weeks ago to look at a boat. Just waved to the guard as I drove in. He waved back.

Not saying he should have prevented me from entering but stopping me to ask where I was going or who I was there to see would be expected.

Mark,
We have state of the art facial recognition software. Walter and I added you to the approved list a while back.
This is why he let you in. The automated system approved your access.

........in other words.....theres a major hole in security at the facility.............LOL

When I first went there last month looking for a slip, there was no one in the guard shack at all. I drove around the marina, stopped at different areas, and walked around different boats without anyone stopping me. There was an employee who was loading and moving some stands from the far end of the marina. He went back and forth repeatedly, passing by me and my car numerous times, for the half hour or so that I was there, and never stopped to offer help or ask why I was walking around. Not good. Then again, the marina I'm presentl;y in has been wide open every time I was there for the last few months. A communications company is working on a recently installed cell tower on the property. Once again, no one from the marina was around and no one stopped me from nosing around or from going onto and off our boat. So I guess lax security is becoming endemic at marinas.

Fuel tanks can be abandoned in place ! They have to be emptied , cleaned then filled with whatever Slurry spooge is approved by the locals ! I can't be the only person that knew the fuel dock was adj to the office ? Will be interesting to see the relationship of the company that does the clean up !

Great Al!
I am in D60, Walter is D55.
See you in the spring.
Our boats are stored over by A and S docks.

Dave I think I saw your boat today as soon as you come in the yard. Thanks again.
