We prepare breakfast every Saturday morning on our dock. We have a refrigerator/freezer, two Nuwave induction cook tops and a microwave. Getting tired of our usual bacon, eggs, hash browns and would like some suggestions on alternatives.

How do you like the nuwave cooktops. We had considered getting on to replace our ceramic burners.

Does it heat evenly with good pans? How is it for pancakes?

Does it reallly boil water faster, or is it hype?

As for breakfast, homemade hash, cube steak and fried potatoes with an egg over easy on top, sausage gravy. Fruit?

Skillet biscuits, from a covered cast iron skillet, venison or pork sausage gravy, Omelette: any style, grilled steak, fresh sliced tomato. If you don't want to make the biscuits from scratch you can bake them at home and then just reheat in the covered skillet being careful not to burn them. Country fried steak and gravy also makes a fine breakfast meat.

We like the Nuwave cooktops. They were given to us as a gift. I would recommend them. They heat fast and evenly and the temperature is controlled digitally. The ceramic coated pans are very nice. Water definitely boils faster.
Maybe a brunch type menu would better suit our tastes.

Frozen water, liquified fermented potatoes, tomatoe juice, salt, pepper, tobasco, old bay and a stalk of celery.

1)Oatmeal, flavor of your choice, fix as pkge directions in water, and 2 tbsps. of Wheat germ, or Honey Wheat germ, then add milk, as it gets like porridge with the wheat germ.
2)Low fat Jif peanut butter, I usually put it on a toasted Arnold sweet sesame roll, English muffin, or bread of your choice. I don't use jelly on it, I'm diabetic.
3)A Corn or Bran muffin with Land O'Lakes spread with sweet cream, tastier, better then butter!
4)Rice crispies, or cereal of choice, with banana, or fruit of your choice.
5)Low fat peanut butter, with a sliced banana on toast of your choice.
6)A sesame, or bagel of your choice, with low fat cream cheese on it, toasted or not.
7)The new raisin English muffins toasted with, butter (land o' lakes spread) or low fat cream cheese.
8)Corned beef, or roast beef hash with eggs, in place of the ham, bacon, or sausage.
9) Home made French toast, with maybe a pinch of vanilla flavoring on occasion, with lol spread, & Vermont made maple syrup
10)Aunt Jemima complete mix, or Mrs. Butterworth complete mix pancakes (the latter has a bit of a vanilla flavor), with, or without GRATED UP (for best flavor) Macintosh apples or your fruit of choice. Plus, lol spread, & Vermont made, or maple syrup of your choice
11)Aunt Jemima "Thick & Fluffy" home style waffles (a meaty waffle with a bit of a vanilla flavor), with lol spread, & Vermont made or maple syrup of your choice.
12)PIZZA! Just kidding ;)

Rocky Mountain toast, also called egg on a island.

Take a piece of bread, white, wheat or rye.
Cut a hole the size of a half dollar in center, shot glass or juice glass works.
Put butter in pan.
Lightly toast bread on both sides in the pan with the butter.
Then add more butter in hole.
Crack egg in the hole.
Wait about 45 seconds.
Flip.
Wait about 30 seconds.
Remove.
Cut open membrane on egg hole.
You now can cut bread and dip.
I add ketchup at this point and pepper!
Yum!

Currentsea, My mom used to make this, and called it "Scotch Toast" and It was good, over the yrs I forgot how to make it. Thanks for the info!

BillD's favorite

Halve an avocado and break an egg into each half where the pit was. Back until egg cooked to your preference.
Top with salsa

Bill, I like this one. I have done the same thing with a large portabello mushroom underneath the avocado. Great multiple tastes and textures.

Hey Mariner36, That New Wave cooktop is no hype. It's all true. The only thing is that you can not put just any pot on it. It must be "induction" condusive. You'll have to look that one up. Mine came with two appropriate skillets.
