Countdown....

With the single digit temps this coming weekend I think not!

Less then 75 to go...

Yeah I was looking for a break in the weather. I have this 3KW inverter I have to install, then there's a water maker, and then a SSB radio, and then I am sure there is something else. Maybe transom lights. Heck I might even install myself on the dang thing at some point.

I got nothing to install this year but I do need ti hire someone to compound and polish the hull. The colored hulls look nice but a PITA.

On a good note we just scheduled our fishing trip with a group of guys from the marina. Hello to warm Florida.

What kind of water maker Dan. I'm debating on getting one.

You guys planning a trip to the Bahamas???

Why bother with a water maker? They are a pain in the ass and noisy. Just extra maintenance and cost if you ask me.

Unless you go to the Bahamas where they charge for water I really don't see why you would want one.

The dreaded beginning and end of the season when I'm still boating but the marina has turned off the water...

Actually we are planning Jonathan hence the inverter as well. So John which were you considering? I thought the HRO seafari mini unit has all sorts of automatic functions built in. It looks reasonably compact. It's also on my list.

Been looking at the smaller, build your own 12 volt units. Really has my interest. Only 6 gallons an hour but 9 amps. Could even run off the inverter if I had too. Price looks right. I don't need hundreds of gallons per day. 144 gallons per day is WAY more than I'd ever use.

It's more than we'd use also, but we figure that we want to limit the amount of run time. Anyway we have not made up our minds yet. The Katadyn are 12v units and the 160E is at about the same output as the smaller HRO units.

Yeah the HRO unit is a Cadillac version. More than it is worth. That's why we have been leaning towards the Katadyn. I can back flush it manually once a week. Heck, if I am retired I should have time.
So where are you looking for components?

Still in the very early stages Dan. Haven't started looking for parts yet.

Bumpity bump...

Sigh.... still more than 50 days to go!

Don't fret, John, each day we are one day closer...

Halfway thru February now, then March will fly by since I'll be in the Bahamas for 13 days, and before you know it we'll all have the polishers out and we'll be back in the game.
