Currentsea is back!

Plasdeck blows away flexiteek in my view. It's a much more natural looking product. It is easier to sand if it gets scratched or repair.
Flexiteek turns dark with age. It is harder than plasdeck and does not scratch as easily but it also does not sand as well as it is more plastic than plasdeck.

Since I haven't owned the flexiteek yet, I will need to see, but on looks alone, I like plasdeck. Just go look at old pics of both boats and you will see. Plasdeck looked more like real new teak and flexiteek looks like older more aged teak.

Both definately make a boat look sharp and hands down are better than carpet.

As for the enclosure, I just need to get straps made so I can roll it up. I enjoy sitting on back of boat as does Gizmo and this just kills that view!

As for the OTR or drive, again, once on truck, its on. If boat was not on a lake, it would be hands down the #1 option. But since it has to go on a truck and has to be moved, my first preference is to bring her home, where I can work on her, get her checked by local IPS mechanic, and make sure she is water ready. It may cost a little more this path, but I feel more comfortable. We all know what happened last time I shipped a boat to NJ! I don't want a repeat of that!

Hey Dave,

Thanks for your post and your notes on the Flexiteek vs Plasdeck.. Around here they have a similar called PlasTEAK.. & I think more like your Plasdeck. (http://www.plasteak dot com/) It will be interesting to see how you like it once you get it back home & cleaned up as you note.. I'm certain that you'll probably adjust as both look nice. :)

I looked at the location of the boat now. I was thinking it was closer to the coast & agree, that OTR might be a better option for you.. once it's on the truck, you might as well bring it home.. I guess no BOLT's to worry about this way egh?

Well anytime a boat is moved over land all nuts, bolts, connections, etc should be checked.
Last time I didn't do this. I assumed that the dealer did all the proper prep needed.
Now I know different.
Once boat gets to my marina it will get fresh paint, wax, and will every nut, bolt, screw, wire connection, hose, hose clamp will be checked by ME personally.
In addition, the local IPS mechanic will come by and check everything is ready.
Then we will splash and see!

Dave

Couple of more boat names to consider: "Sea Alice" or "Luna Sea" ;-)

BTW- my 391 has a cockpit enclosure that fits around the transom like the one on your new boat and I leave it on about 4 months a year, it is nice in the early spring when the temps are only 50-60 and in the winter we stays on all the time for winter cruising. My enclosure rolls up so when on the hook if the sun is out and weather is nice during the day it makes the cockpit enjoyable.

after seeing more pics & the color of the hull, I think you could go with something like 'Shades of CurrentSea'

As she kinda resembles your previous craft in some respects.. lol

It's gotta stick with CurrentSea.
We got CurrentSea Swap and CurrentSea Conversion at the top of list.

How about "New CurrentSea", or "Modern CurrentSea"? Maybe some variation of "duos" (two in latin), or duece? CurrentSea Duece? Duece CurrentSea?

I like CurrentSea Exchange too..
but was thinking it would be cool if one could somehow tie it to Sandy as your other options.

Maybe some artwork to reflect a swirling hurricane??
