Brian &/or Andy,

Whenever anyone posts to a thread I have posted on, I get an eMail telling me. I have unchecked & saved eMail prefs, but they still keep coming.
Don't want 5-10 BoaterEd eMails a day! I can check myself. :)
 
Hang on Steve, I can fix that...I think.
 
let me know if it keeps happening, I think I turned it off.
 
You can manage that yourself in your profile preferences. Adjust to your local time, too.

Found the somewhat hidden preferences and unchecked a whole slew of alerts---I THINK I've licked the problem. :oops:
 
everyone is highly encouraged to explore their profile settings, there are settings in the account details, and the preferences that should be set to your liking. I've shut off email in at least two places, I think I'm getting close. But don't turn off the alerts, if you are trying to shut down email.

I found them too. No wonder I was getting so many emails.

Getting buried in emails still, and I changed all of my settings. Will have to look into this.

The first set of email preferences doesn't turn off email alerts...the second one for alerts does.
 
I'm not getting them because it probably still has my old email ;)

ok, just deactivated all Alerts. Are there any that I should have kept?
 
It's totally up to you and how many emails you want to get. At some point I may start a monthly newsletter which will require you to have clicked this one:
  • Receive news and update email
but that is down the road...

Same here, but STILL getting them. Might have something to do with 'Watch'. Never turned them on, but have to manually tour them off in each thread. Top right on page 1 of the thread.

That did it. Early on, the 'Watch' got activated. Seems it's fixed now.
 
what's odd is that I unchecked the option to send email for watched threads, but it still sends email

I am getting the same, I will find some time to dig into it and try to figure it out.
 
Cant find it again but yesterday I found about 20 boxes that had to be unchecked to stop the emila.
