FINALLY! New boat...revarnishing?

Capt Bill - no finish? not even oil? any recommendations on what to clean it with?

No finish, no oil. Sand it smooth as you like and the once a year clean it with two part teak cleaner. (I have a home made recipes for it that is way cheaper to make up than the stuff you buy in the marine stores that I can pass along if you'd like.) And other than that clean it with powdered Tide with bleach in it as needed. Only use scuffy pads to scrub it down with so you don't eat into the soft pith of the wood and raise the grain.

Thanks. I've used the snappy two part, not too expensive. I'll give the tide a shot. Thanks again

Try not to use the stiff brushes that sometimes come with the 2 part cleaner kit unless you really have to. They eat into the grain and increase the amount of sanding you need to do to get the wood smooth.
