We are planning a week down the shore this summer. Looking at Beach Haven and Point Pleasant.
Another weekend we will try the Channel Club in Monmouth.

Good live music at Trump Marina on Friday and Saturday nights in the summer.
Z- Not knowing how big your boat is, you need to build some time into your schedule for sea conditions if you are running the ocean (rough conditions)and the tide schedules if you are running the ICW (shoaling). I have heard that Beach Haven inlet is not advisable and Barnegate inlet may require some local knowledge. The Jersey Boys (pardon the pun) can chime in with local information.
I don't mean to sound alarmist but having done this a few times I know that mother nature sometimes does not cooperate.
FYI. We'll be down for a week hitting Atlantic City and Cape May/Wildwood.

A 4 day trip to AC from PB is doable but not a lot of fun. Long travel days or traveling every day doesn't give you much time to enjoy the sights.
Also, you have to pick your travel days when the weather is fairly calm as once you leave Sandy Hook you have about an hour run outside in the ocean before you can head back inside to the ICW. (Your boat can certainly handle it but in rough water you'll be less than happy)
The Channel Club is very nice for a 4 day trip.
