Congratulations on your Vero Beach home purchase! I too moved to Vero three years ago, and am very happy with my decision. One thing I found out right away the inlets to the ocean are about 14 miles away at Sebastian and Ft Pierce. In addition, the iCW is rather shallow within the Indian River lagoon, which is really shallow, often less than 3’. The local boat of choice is a cc with a t-top for day use. Most folks prefer outboards, and so do the thieves that steal them. The Hondas
and the Yamahas are their favorite. It is for that reason I elected for an I/O. I live in a community that does not allow boats, so I must use a storage yard, with the usual theft deterrents, but it does little to stop these itinerant criminals. I also elected a/c for the commander, so a 2452 is what I came up with. Be it as humble as it may be, it suits my personal needs. There are plenty of Cobias and Makos and Contenders down here, but I like a hardtop, and money in the bank. Again, welcome to Vero! Hope you like it “ where the tropics begin”...
