Diesel on land is over 4bucks ! God were screwed !

Rob

But in the marinas diesel is cheaper than gasoline. Still going ot be a expensive boating year though.

But, I refuse to let it make me stop or boat less. I'll just cruise slower and maximize my fuel dollars as best I can. But, I'm still going to go. :)

Bob

I'll cruise slower and use my 5 gallon cans. That will help me shop for the cheapest possible price. I don't mind a nice easy cruise, and I'm down at the dock a lot more times every week than I pull away from it. It's not a big deal to me to dump ten gallons in the tanks a couple of times a week. I'm usually just puttering around at the dock and on the boat a few times every week anyway. Just doing those two things will probably mean that I'll put the same number of hours on the boat while spending about the same on gas as I did last year.
Just owning and maintainig the boat can be a chore sometimes or great expense. If I'm spending the time and money to own the boat, I want to make sure I use it as much as I can.

It's going to be a costly summer. It will be interesting to see how bad price are going to be, my guess is we may see 6 buck on the water.

Sadly walter i agree and I think its going to be alot sooner then later. Any excuse to bend us over appears to be norm. I like the way our govt is in front of this with a plan in place.... Does anyone really even know our energy policy ?

Rob

Thank God my fill-ups this summer will only be 90 gallons each time ........rather then 210 gallons......and I'm only feeding one dependent !

Rob......the policy is.... the more you use....the more you pay.

Don you got any pics of this motor home? This is the most talked about motor lol

Im not sure if Im putting the big boat in the water this year. Not because of the fuel prices, but do to lack of time to use it. Work is killing me

Ill definitely use my little 18cc to knock around in after work for a few.. At least I can trailer that to a land station to fill up..But by the time i move my truck and start towing the money i would have "saved" would be going towards filling the truck up for burning the extra gas..hmmmm

I don't think it will get as high as $6/gal. $5 will likely be the breaking point similar to last time. At a certain point people stop buying. They stop going places. Cut back on vacations.....

For sure the days of $3 per gallon gas and diesel are gone unless they open up drilling and for that we have to wait a couple more years.

This entire run up of prices is due to speculators. Oil demand has not changed. Peoples fears of whats going on over seas is the bait and we take it everytime !!

As for diesel prices, the season is going to open at 5 bucks. Diesel on land is over 4 already. There is always atleast a dollar if not more difference.

B/C..... This is when I was driving it back from Florida.....with the Jeep I purchased on the way.

believe it or not....according to the onboard computer.....I got 15.3 mpg on the way home.

Rob......sorry if I highjacked your thread.

Two words...truck delivery. I usually pay the same as land prices for truck delivered diesel. I guess I should have filled the baot before it was hauled. Glad I haven't moved up to the 48DA or 52DB I've had my eye on.

Don, thats one awesome looking RV..Best of luck with that and the jeep!

Our present marina just put in new fuel storage tanks at the end of last season so no truck delivery will be allowed. He's got to make back the 150k it cost to put in the tanks. Gas will be expensive, but I'm not going to let it force me to sit at the dock. The boat is my only vice; I'm going to indulge in it. Hy

Man I hope you are wrong about this! I'm on E at the moment I plan to fill the first tank on land I will probably need close to 300 gallons. I expect the trips to be shorter this year and more time on the hook which sounds just fine to me.

This is like a sick joke ! My trucks diesel. Just went and fueled . Yesterday it was 4.01 today it's 4.25 same station . Thank god for my phone fuel app . I paid 4.05 on wantagh ave
