But, I refuse to let it make me stop or boat less. I'll just cruise slower and maximize my fuel dollars as best I can. But, I'm still going to go. :)

You know it, Bob. It's not going to stop us either. However, we need the darn Exumas to actually HAVE fuel. Here's the latest from Explorer Charts on prices and availability. Most are well over $5/gallon, some are out:

Handy? Only to raise your blood pressure :-)

Don,

That rv is real nice. Any pics of interior? I am trying to talk my parents into buying an rv. They live in florida, but they like to spend a few months a year up here.. Any rv places for them to live in rv on the islabd?

Jeff

Thanks Jeff.....I posted some pic in " Non-Boating Toys " ( mid-life crisis )....if you want to see the interior.

There are a few RV campgrounds on the Island....both in Nassau and Suffolk......just google them. One place off the top of my head is Nickerson Beach campground.

Rob & Don,

There's also a very good app fro blackberry, iphone and droid called poynt. It provides fuel prices, restaurants, movies, business info and weather. Very useful and FREE.

All oil is speculation. I'll grant you '08 speculation was market manipulation. The farquer should have been doused and Zippo'd in the middle of Wall Street. This one is for real.

Think of it in reverse. What if we were the major controlling factor in oil exportation and our main field and exportation site was Ft. Bliss, TX. I think the rest of the world would be on edge considering Bliss borders Juarez, Mexico.

Dang! I feel lucky today I found regular gas for $3.72 for the car.

It's ~$3.34 here....this morning. If it wasn't for the special blends, it would be cheaper.

In 2008 the price per barrel was 140+ now its 106 as of yesterday yet the prices are the same as they were in 2008 already. How do you explain that? We are still 40 dollars a barrel less then in 2008.

Run away inflation. Have you been to the grocery store lately?

Yeah, Publix raised their ice cream prices by 30 cents!! What's a woman to do???

Bergen Point has Regular for $3.99 and 93 for $4.19 as of today. Gas was delivered 3 days ago so not to bad on the price. Frank however at Surfside is a total rip off charging $4.69 for 89. I guess now that anchorage has no gas he is going to overcharge everyone to make up for last year when he was closed. Worth the one canal over trip to Bergen IMHO!!

Surfside SUCKS, they have always gouged IMHO. The Anchorage has always been less money (by far) and has a more user friendly dock. Bergen Point, has the old owner back, new tanks and a mentality that wants to be fair. I bet Bergen point this year will continue to have the best prices between the three. The Anchorage does not offer 89 octane, but the price of 93 octane has been always less than Surfside's 89 octane.

Plus Anchorage has all brand new shiny tanks but sorry to say Gizmo took a piss on the today!
I don't think any got in the tank though, I hope! He was trying to make bio-fuel!

Looks like the best prices are "cash only". Not sure I want to carry that much cash to the out islands.

I really never cared for SS3 fuel docks or their prices. Before I started having my fuel delivered to the house....I also used Bergen Point and the AYC for fuel. We would go to Dockside resturant for something to eat....then fuel up on the way out of the canal.
