A BR24 would be Broadband radar. I think you have conventional PULSE radar. I'm not familiar with your unit the SW upgrade on Garmin networks is done through the MFD.
Does your paperwork have the radar model number on it?

Update... After reading all your replies. I looked again at all connections. There is
a 18 pin connector into the MFD. Closer inspection noticed 3 female pin holes looked
darkened compared to the others. I bought on line a product called Deoxit. It cleaned the
contact. 2 of the 3 holes carried the radar data. Seems to be working fine now. Only time
can tell. Thanks for all your input, especially Bill.

Doug, thanks for letting us know what you found. It sounds like you found the culprit. Hopefully the repair will hold.

What is and where did you get the Deoxit? Asking in case others experience a similar problem.
