FYI, one LiCC RO, actually asked a neighbor if he could borrow his (small boat) to take Robs family to shore, another RO offered to pick them up and bring them home. Many LICC Ro's kept in touch with him and made sure if he needed something we would get it to him. The first LICC RO did go out to meet with him just to make sure all was ok.

All I know, is that one of are own was in trouble, and in minutes we all knew about it and were there for him.

So in your words:

The lesson here is: We are a tight group that take care of our own.

Your post is way out of line.....

Years ago, a few friends of mine helped one of our buddies out of a major bar room jam… Once he was safe and cleaned up… he did not live it down, until the next time.

We are all there to help each other… But when all is done, the underwear could get flown…. It is just the nature of guys who are friends.

I think you were right to say he was out of line.
He thinks he is some bigshot DA Hillbilly!
I bet he spends all day Sunday watching Law and Order so he can learn some tips!
 
HOGAN, these guys from the outer Islands are a very tight group here...KY tight. Spend hours a day together on the LIE together and you'll form a bond. They can joke about each other but if you're from the mainland, that sh!ts not funny! Don't pee in their sandbox, the Great South Bay aka Great Sand Box.

Hogan is just hanging the underwear up the flag pole a bit early… As long it is not hung upside down, we all will be ok…

Please dont argue ... im cool with it ... Everyones been awesome.. Im not the sensitive type ... Its all good. Again I appreciate everything u guys did for me ...

Back to the boat... I was hauled ... Only damage is stb prop was out slightly.... Strainers all impacted with sand and my Rudders and struts are shiney..... They pulled my wheels ... installed my spares and Im back in the water.... EVENT over and closed.

Hope never to be repeated. I still honestly dont know how i misjudged the two channels . I now have WAYPOINTS to aid in my naviagtion... again THANK YOU
 
Rob, was this at the Amityville Cut/State Channel intersection? Did you end up cutting the NE corner? From the comment about the signs I am guessing that is the area but I'm not able to figure anything from the pictures. Or was this in the Amity Channel over off Massapequa? It would be good to know exactly where this happened. I haven't been out yet but I am guessing everything is not marked yet.

A bent prop, that's not too bad!

A broken strut with a bent shaft and a gouge out of the gelcoat...that's bad!! Should be fixed by Friday (finally)
