Hogan has landed!!

I guess Mike is waiting for the new icon of Hogan before he posts...
Actually the wifi was down at the marina and I am sure he stayed there last night. Figure we should be hearing from him soon...

Hogan 6 is now back in her new marina.

We gave them a small welcoming flotilla about 10 miles or so from home and escorted them in.

BTW - there was an incredible moon out tonight!

I thought it was Hogan V.

Here's a quick search of my picture files....

HOGAN IV was the best!

We never did hear the meaning behind the name HOGAN. Now would be an appropriate time.

Does it have to do with Hogan Place?

Is Kimmie OK with that?

Like naming your newborn kid after the ex-husband

He's probably still getting his legs back and letting his fingers settle down ;)

Either that or he's hung over from the home coming celebration.

Nah, it's a work day. Wait. Do you think he has fallen ill with 10 footitis and is in remission?

I got some text messages from Mike today. Mike is fine, I am guessing he is exhausted. I would not have made the trip he did with the weather windows he was faced with. He must be pretty darn good at handling a boat.
Bill

After Bill left us, we made our way to Mantoloking where we fueled up and stayed for the night. Left in the drizzle late the next morning and went out thru the Manasquan inlet. We made it about 1/2 mile out and were taking water over the bow (had to be 9' seas). spun around and went back to Hoffman's marina where we tied up at the fuel dock.

The weather forecast was for increasing winds, so we paid to stay for the night. At about 3 PM, a 24' boat came in from Sandy Hook and said that it was snotty, but doable. The dockmaster refunded our money and we set out. Some decent sized rollers until we got 2 miles off shore, then not a bad ride.

As we got up near Sandy Hook, it flattened out, the ride from there was like glass.

Pulled into our marina at 7PM and secured in our new slip.

Boat ran great, we cruised at 25 MPH, and had no problems whatsover.

I stayed on the boat last night and spent the day washing her and tidying up.

Thanks to Bill for all his help, and for lending me his epirb - thank God I didn't need it!

Older son is away at Boston U. Wife, younger son and dog made the trip.

But it was only visible just south of the TZ Bridge!

Awesome. So was it a following sea traveling north?

Ok, this may sound cold, but how was the dog? pretty rough going for the dog, NO? My crew is pretty good in rough seas, I always worry about my dogs.
