After Bill left us, we made our way to Mantoloking where we fueled up and stayed for the night. Left in the drizzle late the next morning and went out thru the Manasquan inlet. We made it about 1/2 mile out and were taking water over the bow (had to be 9' seas). spun around and went back to Hoffman's marina where we tied up at the fuel dock.
The weather forecast was for increasing winds, so we paid to stay for the night. At about 3 PM, a 24' boat came in from Sandy Hook and said that it was snotty, but doable. The dockmaster refunded our money and we set out. Some decent sized rollers until we got 2 miles off shore, then not a bad ride.
As we got up near Sandy Hook, it flattened out, the ride from there was like glass.
Pulled into our marina at 7PM and secured in our new slip.
Boat ran great, we cruised at 25 MPH, and had no problems whatsover.
I stayed on the boat last night and spent the day washing her and tidying up.
Thanks to Bill for all his help, and for lending me his epirb - thank God I didn't need it!
