The Lampe Berge units are fantastic things on a boat. I cook extensively in the galley, and while the last owner put in an incredible exhaust fan (takes up half a closet next to the galley), smells still permeat the boat. I often light the lamp up as I'm cooking.

They have a non-scented oil, which is what I use. My nose is very sensitive. On our old boat my wife would light it as soon as we arrived at the boat for 30 minutes or so, and every time she cleaned the boat. We now have them at home and she lights it when she hears the stove exhaust go on or whenever she cleans the house. They really are useful.
I used to use them also for smoking on the boat. I'd occasionally smoke a cigar and these really helped. The new boat is so well sealed that smoking anywhere onboard is terrible.
One other thing as far as holding tanks. I've tried a bunch of different holding tank sensors. The ones you stick on the outside, custom tubes that go in the tank, the tankwatch (worst for me so far), and late last year I put in an ultrasonic N2k unit from maretron. This one has actually worked flawlessly and it's the only one that has!
I do miss the 200+ gallon unit on my last boat when my wife would ask how full the tank was and I could say no where near full!
