How Much Does Your Marina Charge Per Kw ?

The slip I'm in now includes electricity. When I was in a metered slip I think my largest bill was $14.

The highest we ever hit was around $110 the summer we were there. 3 summers ago if my memory is correct.

I'd say the average was more like $70-80.
 
Man the price range, and system of charging is all over the map. Now I really want to know what my $$ per kWh is. I don't think it is a big secret but nothing the marina owner boasts about.
 
We pay $1200 a year for boats up to 40'.

There is no charge for electricity or water.

The pump out is $5.00 per use, although I haven't been charged in two years.
 
$30.00 per month unmetered for 30 amp service, $50.00 per month for 50 amp service.

Use all you need.
 
I just took a look at my summer marina and they charge a $205 "facility fee, and $125 for each AC unit so that comes to $455 per summer season for electric.
 
Here in SW Florida we pay $40 for 30 amp and $50 for 50 amp service. Considering we run our A/C most of the year I think is a deal.

Is it a pedestal meter or a house meter mounted on a board? I have heard of pedestal meters going bad.

At any rate, take a reading yourself and take another reading 30 days later. Divide your bill by the difference in the two readings and that is the rate you are being charged per kilowatt hour.

As of July 2009, Indiana's residential rates are the 12th lowest in the nation at 7.66 cents per kWH.

NY ranks second highest at 17.23 cents per kWH.

Commercial and industrial rates are considerably lower.

NY Residential this Aug was at 19.12¢ per KWH-Commercial is at 16.4¢ & industrial is at 11.53¢
It says that last Aug it was at 21.27 ¢ per KWH and In checking our LIPA bill for then we paid 21.48 ¢ per KWH
US average is at 12.05 ¢ per KWH- I think we need more Nuke’s!
 
My dues and dockage is around $1600 for the season (5 months). Water and electric is included. But...our club like others on the great lakes is struggling to stay ahead of the bills. I consider myself an abuser of the electric and water as we live aboard those 5 months. At dinner with the Commandor last Friday night I mentioned that maybe that needs to change and those of us with air conditioners should have some sort of fee charged to us.

Anything connected to AC? Cabin heaters or the like? Or maybe the reading fee is $56 per month. I hear NY is expensive.
 
We pay around $5000 for our 45' slip which includes hydro for 6 months - May to Oct.

0 to 500 KWH are free.
501 to 99,999 KWH at .014 cents per hour.

Novembers bill 892 KWH = $5.49
