Irma

Be safe, everybody!

Pascal, if you remember where Mayo Clinic sits west of the JTB/SR202 bridge across the ICW (three more bridges northbound and you're at the St. Johns River), we're on a canal back there, not far from where we met you on CHARMER on the ICW. I "expect" the wind'll be down by the time IRMA gets here. Still, expecting wind and high water. We'll pull out soon.

Hopes, Prayers, Best Wishes for ALL of us.

Stay safe all.

They need to figure out how to disperse hurricanes before they start.
If it's just wind, why won't explosives out in the ocean work?

The shear power one of these storms generates makes any amount of explosives seem like a fart in the wind...

Our hearts and best wishes go out to all down there potentially in Irma's harms' way. May she have mercy!

Stuart, FL police tweeted that the Old Roosevelt Bridge will close tomorrow at 2:00 P.M. No openings after that and no bridge tender.

hoping all our RO's stay safe - keep yer heads down and have a good bottle of rum close-by.

Hoping for the best and safety for everyone in the path of this monster.

Fingers crossed for Florida.

Bruce, I tracked Pascal headed east this morning (Balsita) - Last position was SE of Nassau, headed NE - Looks like he may be headed for Hatchet Bay.
Wish all the best and safety during this event.

Yep... that's where I am. Yesterday I realized the tracks were shifting west making the west coast less appealing. While the panhandle is an option fuel would Ben a problem ahvgin to run at high speed to beat the weather,

Keith post had jogged my memory... I stopped st Hatchet bay a couple of years ago, good protection from anything but a direct hit... left Miami at 12:30 and got here around 11:30... Gulf Stream was ko, NW channel was its usual temperamental self and from SE NAS to Eleuthera we had to slow down to 18 kts as we were bewting into 4 footers ad 30 kts.

Nobody else in the anchorage... should not get more than 50 kts as we are 250 miles from the track

We got the mandatory evacuation order here in southernmost Cape Coral below Cape Coral Pkwy. We'll be leaving tomorrow, and headed to the Homewood Suites hotel at Bell Tower shops in Ft. Myers. Fortunate to get a room. Must've just caught a cancellation. We'll actually be closer to the eye at the hotel but on (slightly) higher ground. The next night back in Cape Coral at home or at the Hampton Inn, whichever gets power restored first. I have a feeling both will be out for several days.

Heck that looks like a standard summer day in SF Bay <G>
Good thing you got there safe and what a great call

Pascal,
Your on charmer? What did you do with your boat?

This was the ride over yesterday between NAS and Eleuthera. I couldn't video the worst of it in the NW Channel as it was too rough and I had to hand steeer to avoid the ones breaking

Now you know what the ride is like in a 43' Hatt ;)

Looks like the eye is coming over the Avon Park, Sebring area now. Have a trailer there in an RV
park.
A friend's son is in Sebring with no power since afternoon, 55 mph winds now.
I am under multiple live oaks and pines and expecting damage. At least I am safe in W.Pa.
