Wow. It seems early. I heard they are looking to get everyone out of the water up at RYB earlier this year also. It's a bummer and I hope the Winter passes quickly.

By the way, why not leave some Rumplemints on the boats and have a new year's party in the lot?

We'd love to help, but you guys would have to chip in for the air fare.
 
Heck, Im running the power cord this weekend and gonna hook up a pump with long hose for the AC. Cant give it up that easy. Besides that. found that bottle of rum that has to be drank yet!

I feel for you all up there in NY. You're doing the correct and safe thing. Down here in MD the vast majority of power boats under 40' pull, but there's more and more of us (even us small ones) staying in. I say move down here an enjoy a good 10 (if not 12) months of boating. We're off to Annapolis this coming weekend. Then at least 3-4 more trips to Baltimore into December. Last year we pulled off all 12 months. And if I can't boat, that's what I bought the ski place for! (but the knees...the knees are getting older!)

Pete we think that may be the Bahamas.

Edit: Sratch that idea. We still have about 200 nm in Fla. We will probably be near West Palm in a marina.

Once we get further South, we have a hold for mail, more prep work and provisioning, spares etc.. If the Gulf Stream lays down we go. So I suspect weather will have some role here since the North East winds have set in and that means we cannot make the hop.
Deb is sort of gloating about not having turkey because she really hates it but I have designs on a turkey that fits in the oven...
 
Our final weekend of the season is this weekend. Water systems are being blown out on Sunday and she gets pulled Monday. One of the saddest days of the year!
 
Well, the Boating season is over. I was hauled out on Wednesday. I finished winterizing the engines, it's time to tuck her in and keep her warm for the winter.
I guess it's time to start working on next year's projects for the boat. Hopefully fuel will be lower next year as well.

So where is everyone going next year for vacation?

I'm thinking of venturing to South Croton next summer for vacation.
 
That would mean spending twice as much on fuel as this year Mike. Are you sure that would be wise?
 
You might be right, John, I will have to rethink my plans - it was obviously a rash decision.
 
I heard that they were considering building a bridge from Haverstarw to Croton so that could be a problem for us Mike.
 
LMAO now yer talking when it comes to saving fuel. Why not just drop mooring balls and dink over?
 
YES thats a thought but South croton would be impossible since some people are limited to bridge to bridge.
Now as far as a mooring ball, Hummm that could be a possibility. And perhaps we could daisy chain the dinks for transportation back and forth.
