Memorial Day Weekend

lol....nah, got lots of stuff I need to do. But when I want to sleep it will be nice!!

I was just up at the marina, it was freezing cold, windy and rainy.

I scheduled my boat to be winterized and hauled this weekend.

It was a great season, but it really flew by...

That's funny. But if I didn't go by the calendar and just went outside I would think it's true.

Weather looks like it may be a little better tomorrow. Still a chance for the pond. Is anyone else considering spending Sunday night on the hook?

Well it's calmed down here way down south in NJ. No winds, temps are cold but the sky is clear.
Dam funny Mike, where did the season go?
It sure looks like late November here in my marina only about 5 large boats in and 10-15 small fishing boats.

It's not that cold down here Allen. I am running my 2 5000 watt electric heaters. No need for the reverse air.

I think we will try to make it up to Bowline Sunday night. Have to get the boat put back together. I spent the day doing the water maker install.

I had a little mishap yesterday when I got to the boat in the rain I was unloading my cart onto the boat when I slipped and fell I landed laying on the edge of the dock. I managed to kept my right side out of the water long enough to call my wife and have her grab my cellphone off my hip then I tried to get out and fell in even more before I managed to pull myself out. I have bruises on my right leg from my calf to my groin my back and shoulder are sore but I think I hurt my pride the most. In 30+ years of boating this was the first time I fell in, my new boat shoes just slipped out from under me on the wet swim platform there was no one the to see this or help I had to call for my wife in the boat to save my phone. Good thing I keep Alive on board!

Sorry to hear that, hope the bruises are not so bad. The good or bad news I didn't hear you yelling so probably no one else did either.

Hey you all look, i think thats what Southern people call SUN!!!

Glad to hear you came away from this with only a few bruises and bumps Dave. I had the same thing happen to me during similar weather about 3 years ago. The next morning I hurt in places I didn't know existed.

The wind has picked up here this morning 15-20 knots and it's still cold for this time of the year.
The sun is out and the sky is clear.
That's the WX report from SNJ.

I wasn't yelling for help I just called to Audrey to come quick and grab my phone. It wasn't a graceful maneuver or my proudest moment:)

Doubt a person here has not had...or will have...a similar experience. Me included. Last year I swear my boat was out to get me for neglecting her. Tripped over the lines....twice!! Go figure!!

I'm glad you were not badly hurt...and don't worry about hurting the pride. It was just "your turn" this time. At some point this year it will be someone else's!!

LOL Thanks:) Somehow knowing someone else is going to hurt themselves doesn't really make me feel better!

Bill I have been finding new bruises all morning my forearm is very tender to the touch and I'm sure I will be finding additional spots as the day progresses. I haven't seen any sign of Black and blues as of yet but this too shall come.

Anyway lets all try to enjoy the rest of the weekend and try to be safe!

The list of things that never happened to me on the boat:
I never fell into the bilge in the saloon when I just removed the hatch.
I never cut my self and needed stitches.
I never slipped of the swim platform and hang over it for dear life.
I never dropped my cell phone in the water.
I never tripped over a line.
This is just a short list of things that never happened to me!!!

Another reason not to go to Haverstraw...
