Montauk Yacht Club

Just paid bill. It was only $5.50 a foot. No minimum. $15 resort fee. $25 for electric even though I used two 30 amps.
Very reasonable for the place and amenities.
We did get a break for being a group of 6 boats.
Plus we were in purple docks by day spa which I think are less.
But it's a nice dock because u can walk to star easily and bathrooms at day spa.

We had a great time.
Pulling out today.

Only$ 5.50 per foot, they must think they are in key west.

LOL...no minimum because you exceed 40' :) I was always charged for a 40' boat when I went there with my 31' so I bought a 42' boat to avoid paying the minimums. That will teach them.

I'm hoping to spend 2 or 3 nights there starting on 30 or 31. Then I will head to Block for the same and not sure where else as of yet.

If MYC is so expensive how much is Block Island? I'm sure it's close if not more and frankly I'm not sure which I like better.

We stayed at a place called Snug Harbor out there one year.

I paid for 37' others with 34' paid for 34. The 40 foot min is just for July fourth. We weren't there then.

"37"? but you boat is at least 40+ feet did they give you a discount? Who do you have to know or what is the secret password??

Are they giving a discount for Marina life member?

I am documented at 37. I always say 37. We did get a group discount. Not sure how I didn't book it.

$4.50/ ft at Champlins, with Marinalife discount. Montauk gives you 1/2 off electric with Marinalife

Thanks Mike whats is Block charging for power is it still $50 per night?

Hello Dave (Audrey II)

We are hoping to be at Block with a few other boats on August 1st - if you see us stop by for a beer or something.
Is the name of your boat "Audrey II" ?

"NO WORRIES"

Mike are you talking about the Bahamas?
LMFAO. What a bunch of CROOKS! Was that for a 50A or a 30A?
That's what we paid for 50A power in the Exumas every now and then. Otherwise power was anywhere from 50 to 85 cents a KWH and we used about 12-15 a day. At least in the Exumas they are recovering the expense of generator installation in a remote location. It's not like they have LILCO shipping virtually unlimited amounts of power to them.
The insult to injury is that more often than not, marinas are not supplying 250V but 208V. Was the voltage really an honest stable 250V? At least in the Bahamas we actually get 250V. It may go out every week or so for a while but when it is there it is at the correct voltage.

I paid either 39.00 or 35.00 per day for electric. Maybe we got a discount there as well. Dan, voltage was spot on in the MYC, Greenport (Townsend) was weak.

I can see it for some boats that keep the interior like a meat locker but still we're talking what, about 10 cents a kwh? At least the voltage was ok at MYC. Many times on L.I. we had very low voltage.

FWIW - we really don't appreciate the power charges at Champlain's either but there are a few things which affect the cots and comparisons in this area...

- Block is $50 for a 50/250 which actually puts out a clean 50/250
- Champlain's makes their own power on 3 new Cat diesel gensets replaced a few years ago due to fire
- The balance of Block island has insufficient power even for many of the hotels there
- Delivery or fuel for those gensets affects the cost as much as the system itself

And the worst reason we are not sooo surprised is that we pay $0.2269 per KWH here on LI for power which in itself is a ridiculous combination of service fees, taxes , fuel costs , etc.

Hope this helps

Yes the name on the boat is "The Audrey Too"
I hope to got to Block on the 3rd if all goes well. I was just told a few minutes ago that my plans may change if my son is accepted to law school for this going fall semester. I may have to fly to Florida and set him up in an apartment and I would not get to take my vacation at all this year. The things we do for our kids:)

Hi Dave

"Yes the name on the boat is "The Audrey Too"

We will look for you since we hope to get there the 1st or so and stay till maybe the 4th or 5th - the 11th is VJ day out there and it gets a bit crazy so we will be out well before that weekend. Some of the boats we cruise with will be there near July 30 and leaving earlier and others will arrive with us later.
Hope everything goes well with your son and you can make the trip as well.

Ron
