Pay Hogan a retainer and he will sue. Someone should wreck their boat on the pile so there is a good case. Local knowledge always saves the day!!

If I was as "sue happy" as you think I am, I would be telling you to put the fender there. I'm more concerned about safety.

Hank, it is not a "navigable" body of water. The power plant is not going to put a buoy in, they don't want the liability.

It's been good just like it is for years, let's just leave it alone...

I agree.... leave it alone. It was nice years back when no one was there on the weekend. You had the cove all to your self.

It is the same way for Watch Hill RI, locals know the way straight through and non local take the long way around which adds 25 min to the trip.

Leigh, Please don't try to speak for me, that's just not cool. I don't know what your issue was at HM, but we are very happy with the increase of services. I see now that we stayed at SPBM as long as we did because of the friends there, but now most of them are at HM. As I look back at the days at SPBM we had all good times with the people. The marina issues, pool, bathrooms, no lifeguard, power shut off, Clorox in the pool, low water, mud in air unit etc. all was an pain in the_____. We don't have those issues any longer. What really ticked me off, is when we would drive up to the marina so the kids could swim and, no lifeguard, POOL CLOSED!!
So Leigh, how about, do whatever you do now that you out of boating and don't try to figure people's thoughts your not that good at it.
One last thing, you said ("I am not sure he is convinced") I really don't care what you think, and I don't mean that in a bad way.

"I really don't care what you think, and I don't mean that in a bad way." Is there a good way:)

Leigh I have only met you once or twice and frankly you seemed like a nice guy so I have no issues with you at all but clearly you enjoy picking on my grammar and now you have added Allen really not a cool in my book! Last I checked this was a boating forum not a grammar forum. If you don't like my posts don't read them skip over anything I say I don't care. For the record I feel for you being your boat was destroyed even if this worked out to be a good thing it's tough to see! Finally I'm not sure what your issue is with not believing that people could be happy at HM I started boating here at age 12 on my parents boats and if I could have afforded it when I get my first boats I would have come sooner, I love it here.

Maybe HM is like Bowline the price keeps out the riffraff like the lack of markings keep out the traffic in Bowline! It's all good!

I love how people refer to other people as riffraff, i was brought up to get to know people first, just because someone has a newer boat or makes more money does not make them better than someone with less. I give everyone a chance, you shouldn't judge to quickly.

Yes, I am planning to get another boat and no I would never mess with another mans boat. I was trying to say that all it takes is one instance for someone to loss their boat. (i.e: Storm (sandy)or damage from hitting the wall in Bowline, etc.)

Wayne, I love how you can instigate, break balls, etc. but when someone breaks your balls you get all serious; "Please don't try to speak for me, that's just not cool"... What a joke "Little up Francis"!

I had no problem with HM, actually I preferred it over SPBM any day, and we had some great friends there and many great times. We returned to SPBM because we felt it was a better choice for our 2 young kids and it was. When we get back into boating we will most likely end up at HM, hopefully on the Peninsula or maybe we will go back out to LI Sound.

Dave, I really don't care about your grammar I was just busting balls but I guess that didn't come through in a typed message (never does really)same with Allen, I am only busting balls so in the famous words of Sgt. Hulka "Lighten-up Francis"

My parents were also at HM for many years and I keep my first boat there for 5 years. When we purchased a new boat (24’ Chaparral) we moved to SPBM because HM had no slips and stayed there for a few years. We had no issue with the low water as this boat was an I/O. We then moved up to a 36’ with inboards and decided to move the boat out to the sound. After a few years on the sound we moved the boat back to the Hudson and docked at HM for 4 more seasons. Once we had kids we decided that HM was not the most kid friendly marina so we moved back to SPBM but it was never the same as it used to be when Gene was running the place.

Now I get it. We also were at SPMB for my kids, we had a nice group there. There really were not many issues in the Gean days. When Wayne took over the first season was great, than it started to slowly decline. Wayne's track record with Marina up keep is not so great, I began to see the marina (before Sandy) on a downward slid. I really do feel bad that one of my friends didn't come to HM.
Yes, I do jab and dig, but its all in fun.

Wayne the marina is the best it has ever been since the rebuild, new electric, new water, docks are are better than ever. All the people who stayed are very happy. The people who moved over to our section are very nice. So i will keep you posted about everything else so you can save your weekly visits. And in the words of an old friend SIMMER DOWN!

I'm thinking move to the sound? but I have no idea either.
