Portable TV - Basic Channels

Looking into getting a portable TV to bring on the boat this summer.

Looking to get basic cable channels to watch NASCAR while we are anchored out.

Not looking for anything huge, just something with rabbit ears.

Any suggestions in the 8-10inch screen size?

Looking for something that can plug into a cig lighter. From what Ive read batteries last for 100 minutes when fully charged..
 
Why not a 22" led/lcd pluged into an inverter. Using the homemade antenna from youtube mounted on 4' PVC stuck into a pole holder.
 
I have about six "SuperSonic" brand seven inch TVs. They're digital, fully electronic and have a jack so you can plug into a decent audio system. They use very low power.

I have a small tv, think it's a 10" screen tube tv. Plugs into ciggarette lighter. Has a built in DVD player. Got it for my second boat which had a cabin but no tv service. Used it in a van to drive kids to florida to keep them entertained. It runs on 12v and 110v. It's old. Guessing like 15 years old. But I think it works. It's yours free. Will take some pics of it.

Oh and because its a old tech, it doesn't have the digitial tuner built in. I have one of those free boxes the goverment gave out. Plug that into tv and you will get alot of crystal clear HD channels.

I have a 13" Skyworth with a digital tuner that runs on 12vdc directly from the boat or 120vac with a transformer. It has a built in DVD player, too. It's very light and works well. I recommend it.

Not sure how that's going to work.
 
If you have Cablevision, and can get wifi, use the Optimum App to watch all the channels you get at home.
 
Hogan, which Optimum app are you talking about? I see 2 different ones.

Go to toys r us, get one of those baby things you clip on the crib, replace the animals with cut outs of colorful cars and wind it up ! Voila, NASCAR in action

Just make sure the thing runs clockwise :)
 
Over the air reception is all about location, location . . . . .

Basic cable, FOX and ABC, all should be reachable with rabbit ears. I wont be too far from "land"

I do have optimum, actually we just switched.

Anyone know of a wifi system to add to the boat. Keep in mind its probably over kill, its only a 24ft boat...

You can get it on a laptop, too. All you need is a wifi signal

What people here are trying to tell you...cable is cable, rabbit ears are rabbit ears. You need an actual cable (Verizon, Comcast, etc) to get basic cable.
Anything that is broadcast over the air and within a reasonable distance can be picked up with rabbit ears.
I've got an antennae at the top of my 50' mast and at night time, I can get stations 75+ miles away.
 
Walter, you think ill be able to pick up a wifi signal zachs bay or at hemlock?
