Really sorry to see this! It is heartbreaking to see one's boat so damaged! Hopefully you were fully insured and all will be well financially- boats can be replaced and may be a good opportunity to move up or well, just a good time to be a buyer in the market.

Thanks guys! There will be no CurrentSea II.
Not right away. I think I will take a couple of years off from big boat cruising and go back to a trailer boat.
I just see too much devasation at the places I boat.
I know I will miss the weekends just sleeping on it in its berth and waking up and looking out on the open bay.
As for the CurrentSea II, not sure if anyone knows my boats and how they got named, so since this is MY thread about my boat, I will tell the story.
My first boat was a small bowrider, 21' bayliner, never had a name.
We loved it.
Decided we wanted to sleep on boat.
Bought a 24' Searay Dancer from a banker named Current$ea.
Had that for a couple of years but decided we wanted A/C and something bigger.
Traded that in for a 34' Cruiser Yachts and decided to call that Current$ea Exchange!
Then we got the 40' Regal 4080 and called that No Current$ea left!
Next boat was going to be Retirement Current$ea
But it's looking like it will be Insurance Current$ea or Sandy Current$ea.
Need to work on that name.
Whatever, as each day goes by I can tell you hurts more and more.
I know it's a boat, but I am not sleeping. I have the vision of the boat on the angle in the water in my head.
I keep beating myself up trying to think if I could of done more to save it.
Would it of fared better in the water.
I was all set to stay in. Double lines, fenders on tops of poles.
My cocern was the boats on jackstands behind me and sure enough they are all gone.
I think if I stayed in, I probably would of saved the boat, but would probably have alot of fiberglass damage.
Boats on that dock that stayed in are all banged up really good and I question what their running gear looks like as it obvious boats and debris banged into them.
It's a crying shame and heartbreaking. yes, we still have our lives. yes, it is a material object. But you can grieve for a boat and I am grieving!
I will miss boating, but I will return some day!

Real sorry to see the damage Current$ea sustained.
Human nature sometimes has us second guessing our decisions (boat prep for Sandy) but I'm sure you tried to make the best decision you could at the time.

heartbreaking story. mine is a total loss too, but it's in someone's backyard so I can still salvage some stuff form it.

Dave- we hav known each other for a long time and I have followed your boat progession up to the recent Regal. I remember the very first trip you took on her and the horrible breakdown that you had. I am so sorry for your lost but you and your family are okay.
