Yes. You should get 2700 - 2750 RPM at WOT. If not, you will kill your engine prematurely.

What is your WOT?

WOT stand for what? Full power in neutral? I i barely get to 2450 but i think the engines have some sort of "stopper" on them. Where do you service the engines?

Getting on the plane in 45 minutes and back to the north pole, i mean NY. At list I got a boat ride on friends boat in North Palm Beach, FL.

WOT is full throttle with the boat normally loaded, in gear.

You should join boatdiesel.com and read the articles Tony Athens has posted there.

If you only get 2450, you are killing your engines. I do all routine maintenance myself.

Thanks, I service the engines as well but i want someone knowledgable/mechanic looking at my RPM issue.

You need to start by adjusting the throttle cables. That is way to low with no load.

I cruise at 24 knots, at about 2300 RPM

Join boatdiesel and read up.

Will look into it this season. Thanks.

Mike when are you expected to get your props back? I paid about $1200 to precision to do mine. I didn't trim mine though. When they run the scan the numbers were all over the place. None of the blades were exactly 39.

Allen, probably next week. Chuck charges WAY less than that!

Allen,
I have been using Chuck for 7 years, and he is the best. The fist time he did my props they needed a lot of work as Precision up in Newburgh did not do a good job and did not provide me a before and after print of the props. Found out later he does not use prop scan. I had one blade that was not pulling water through as the pitch was all out. Neither were cupped and balanced and could not hit WOT. Now I hit 2750 rpms at WOT, wide open throttle in gear. I cruise at 2350 rpm doing 27mph with no vibration. Chuck nailed it on the first try. If you need his number let me know I can forward it to you.

I was up at the marinas today hard to imagine they will be ready for Spring well accept Haverstraw my slip looks just fine. I do see plenty of wood at the other marinas but it going to take a small army to get the work done! I sure they will all do whatever they have to it just going to be a monumental task to complete.

I have work beginning on my boat next week, my swim platform it repaired just waiting on gel coat. I'm going to have a few blemishes touched up as long as they are ordering the gel coat. I'm was hoping to start on the wasted lines today but the weather is not very conducive for outside work I will just have to wait for a nice day to get started.

PBM has already finished rebuilding the damaged docks, as soon as it warms up a bit, they will run the new power lines and be good to go. They have been working all winter.

Bob see below. This is what they did and charged on the props.
"Allen, To repitch your propellers, 30 x39 3 blade would be approximately $690 per propeller. That would be re-pitched, re-conditioned and re-balanced. " I am pretty sure they scanned as they did fax me before and after report. With that being said I do think I need to trim a little so yes please send me his number. Would love to know what he charge as well if you don't mind?
