SPBM

Very cool. I never knew they dredged the channel. A plus for you guys entering your marina as well. I thought you were kidding as i thought it was nearly impossible to get permits in this area but good for them.

Permits who said anything about permits. Mike is just going to drive in and out a few times and that said take care of dredging the channel:)

Never ceases to amaze me that the harshes critics of SPBM never kept their boat there. Can't figure that out. Wayne runs his marina the way he wants. Whoever doesn't like it has alternatives nearby. He may be reluctent to do much with the docks now because the ice may be bad this winter. Bad ice equals broken docks and bent over pilings in the spring. Since I am on my way to Florida for the winter I am resigning my post as unofficial SPBM observer Someone else will have to run down there and check on things. Merry Christmas to all.

Pocket, many promises were made...

Had a nice talk with Wayne today:
He is rebuilding the entire marina
He wants it to be an up scale marina.
He will be spending more time there.
He will start the dredging this week.
Build up the land with the silt from the marina up 4 feet higher in the parking lot.
All new cement docks.

I just gave my deposit tp Haverstraw today!

If Wayne does all that he says, I will be back in 2014

I feel a page seven is def. in our future!

Have a safe trip down Ken.

John- I have nominated you to be the unbiased eyes for the progress of SPBM in Pocket Changes absence. If that doesn't get us to 10 pages,, nothing will. Btw- cover looks great. Perhaps my next one if I wind up staying outside.

Hank you owe me a new laptop I just spit my coffee on my keyboard LOL!

Ken just in case you don't know this John did keep his boat at SPBM and Mike only questions things, I have never really heard he knock the marina. I can't blame him for questioning things being there has always been so much bashing going on!

Have a great Winter and enjoy the Florida sun. I sure Hank can check on the progress being he will probably be on board every weekend.

Ken i agree, there are always options if u dont like where you are. And why dwell on the past.

Actually, I spent about ten years at the original SPBM (where the fiberglass docks were).

I probably know Wayne longer than just about anyone else.

When he puts his mind and soul into a project, he goes full speed ahead. I hope for everyone who stays there that he re-dedicates himself to the marina. There is a lot of potential there, it's a shame to see how it went to hell in a handbasket over the past years.

Wayne is a businessman and will act accordingly.

Sure sounds like you have earned your stripes as well.

Hank, thanks for the honor but I respectfully decline. FWIW, I actually LIKE the marina, management on the other hand can go sh!t up a rope.

Mike and I were the pioneers over at SPBM back in the day. IT was a good marina at the begining but went down hill year after year.

We had some good times over there.

Yes that was some time ago. When the Seaweed yacht club and the marina would throw great parties. The summer parties were great and the Christmas parties were fantastic for the kids. I could remember when my kids would watch Santa come down the river on a boat. Wow, they will be 14 and 12. Yup, fond memories, but next year could be the year when it turns around to a world class marina.

Stranger things have happened but you need deep water for a world class marina!

Not sure about the Christmas parties but Seaweed still throws parties, just at a different marina.

I was at Wayne's Marina in 1986, then moved to Bel Harbor for a couple of years. We came back and were at the most northern marina, where the fiberglass docks were, when they first put them in. Guy & Sandi ran it. It was several years before Seaweed moved over there.

Wayne always treated me great - I have no complaints about him.

It's where we met Robyn's Nest, and we did have some fantastic times there!

If it was at the club house I don't think this will happen this year, not much left of it:(.
Maybe they can have it SPBM wait that won't work either. Haverstraw's restaurant is open again, in fact Friday is their Holiday party, I will be there to enjoy the festivities!

I think all the marinas should get together for a Holiday party after all we are all one big boating community. There is no reason for the competition as to what marina is best, after all we all know it's Haverstraw and then all the rest:)

I was waiting for a few more, so we could get to page 7.

Funny how the deep water marina didn't send out invitations to their party. I guess no one's perfect.

(page 7 yet?)
