Maybe if the rates go up they'll be able to afford to send out invitations to their party.

Who would have a marina party and NOT invite the marina?

It sounds more like a restaurant holiday party, not a marina party. I ate there all summer and enjoyed the view and food. However, not once did I spend $120.00 for my wife and my dinner. I have been invited to several SPBM holiday parties and you know what the cost was ? FREE as a thanks for your business and well wishes for the new year. I'm just saying.

Open to the public? Just like their pool.

At least they use the chemicals in their pool.

You mean Clorox isn’t a chemical? ;)

Todd,
What's your point ?
SPBM's pool is open to the public also, but unlike Haverstraw marinas pool, SPBM is FREE!!!!!!!, anyone can go any time. They come by boat, taxi, walk in groups of 5,10 or whatever.

The transient rate is pretty reasonable as well.

You pay your wife to sit there and watch you eat your dinner?

Yes but at least its open to people who can afford it and not the ones that live in tents.
If you don't pay you don't get in!

$60/person is "affordable" if you are one of the "evil 1%"...

For what Haverstraw charges per foot, they should throw it at no cost to their members.

Wait as sec. Is this a marina party or a Hudson Water Club party? Who do you have facebook in order to see this invite? Maybe that would clear this up.

From Hudson Water Club FB page:

2012 ANNUAL MARINA MEMBER PARTY
This Friday December 7th at 7pm we will hold our Annual Marina Party and all are invited whether you're a Marina Member or Not. The general public is welcome to bring there own group.
The festivities begin at 7pm. Stationary and Passed Hors d'oeuvres will be served. During the cocktail hour only all our
beer and wine is included. At 8pm we invite you to sit down and dine on a gourmet three course prix fixe dinner. As a little after diner excitement by popular demand Stone flower( Santana Tribute Band) takes the stage. These guys are somewhat new to us and had people raving about them after the first time they were here.
The price for the cocktail hour and dinner is $60 INCLUDING gratuity and tax
Please let your friends know :)

Mystery Solved.

It's not a Marina party. It's a party at the marina for members, but you don't have to be a member. Hudson Water Club is hosting. It's not in any way associated with the Marina, it's just being held at the restaurant at the marina. There. It's settled.

It really is quite simple, now that you explained it Ben.

Wait...where is it being held and who's party is it? Can I pay by check? I forgot to RSVP. Can I still go?

When I called Haverstraw they said that you needed to call the restaurant for more information. It is a holiday party and not a marina holiday party, that explains why anyone can attend.

Didn't I say that up above?

Only for those without a conscience!

As for the party I don't care who is throwing it I plan to be there and have a good time! With all we spend on boating during the season what's another $120 for a good time with friends? If it sucks I simply wont go again next year. As for a free party for members they do this too during the season and they did a nice job with that as well. BBQ, band a good time was had by all!

I believe you did not.

How come it's not a "Christmas Party"?
