Yes, perpendicular to river. Vertical would be interesting docking with docks straight up in the air.

There were several boats vertical after the storm and frankly this didn't work out very well.
 
Will be interesting on how Wayne repairs or rebulids the marina. The 2013 season will tell if he 100% into it, or not. If he just patches things together or rebuilds better that before.

It starts out " The Marina makes friends, and ends up "Friends make the marina", but you need a solid based marina to start out with.

Or at least one with docks. Water under the boats is always a plus as well.

I believe its 14' at low tide.
All my life I've been watching the tide to use my boat. This coming season will be different, being able to come and go at anytime will be great, and the best part is only $600.00 more!!!!!

Is there where it ended up after the storm?

I don't think it will fit in to well, as Haverstraw's docks are color coded and not lettered.

Assuming a 6 month season that's only $100 a month. Enjoy it Wayne.
 
That's a bargain, $25 extra a week.

Well worth it to have water under your boat.
 
At the entrance to the marina, the north side is deeper. Right next to the warning buoy on the south side of the entrance, it gets as thin as 8' at low tide.
 
I never knew it got that low on the south side. They should mark that better so people are aware.
 
Isn't Haverstraw about $40/ft more than SPBM, plus paying for electric?

Closer to $30 per foot and metered electric.
SPBM did charge for electric on top of their per foot charge and there was not a huge bump in price for the season but it was more.
I know a lot of boats abused the electric it SPBM being they weren't being metered funny how ones habits change when you have to pay each month.

Regardless how much more it actually works out to I can say it was worth the extra cost to have water under the boat!
 
For the record I have 17' under my boat at low tide. I have never had an issue nor did I even know that there is only 8' at the entrance, this is not an issue for anyone I know.
