Ohhh, same answer. Usually will not keep it running over night with or with out a raft up. it is too noisy. I remember the raft up you are talking about though.

The larger boats you have to run gennys all night to power 120 refrig. And lighting in some cases

We do not allow gennys to be run all night in our raft-ups.

Too noisy, too smelly and too dangerous.

That's just how we roll...

Diesel fumes contain over 100 dangerous chemicals. Although the chance of immediate death is significantly less then gasoline exhaust, it is not unheard of. I personally also do not believe that any properly sealed refrigerator will lose significant amount of chilled air overnight.

According to my in-laws food in the refrigirator was still "good" after a week long with no power. They sugested to bring their food to our house after a week with no power in their house. We said Nooooooo.
But i agree nothing goes bad after one night. Any way safety comes first!

Yep, no way a refrigerator should warm up in 8 -12 hours without opening it.

I have no problem if you want to run your genny all night, so long as you are not rafted up with me.

I think there should be a mutually agreed upon distance between the two raft up groups so as not to infringe on the others rights.

My next boat will have underwater exhaust and a double insulated shield so noone will know its running. I'll just have to explain away the vibrating sensation coming from my boat.

Come on folks, let get a little action here!! Only 47 post out of first place, let's not become stagnant now.

Pete, that is one UGLY avatar you got there, buddy...

I thought you were going to comment about Hanks "Vibrating sensation" coming out of his new boat on page 18 and start a much more interesting subject!
Oh well i guess a we'll have to do with a smily face. :-)

Actually Allen, I was going to, then thought it's better to let vibrating dogs lie...

I suppose that explains why so many women want to hang out on Hank's boat...

They only hang out with him because he has a great Kurig coffee machine. Not because he vibrates....

In some cases even the water system is 120vac, so no power no running water. Even flushing a toilet can be a problem with no power.

I'm sure you are right but I dont know that any of "the pond" folks boats are equipped in this fashion. I suspect that is rare in the boats we all see out there on a daily basis as well.
