Spring Boaters Fling

Good to hear you got the wallet back! Sounds like a stroke of good luck that saved you.

I'd enjoy seeing the pics from the weekend. Can you post the link here for all to access? If not, feel free to email them to me. kalan2000 at comcast dot net

Thanks, Dennis!!

Glad to hear you found your wallet Dennis. That's my worst fear ... first losing all my stuff, then remembering who I have to call to cancel everything! You did a first rate job on the photo slide show ... I felt like i was there the whole time ... oh yeah, I was, but I've got to cut down on the drinking so I can remember it all by myself. You've got a talent with the camera ... thanks for sharing !!!

Nice to meet everybody. It must have been pretty windy on the way home. It was blowing hard at my house on Sunday, and it is usually much windier on the San Joaquin than it is at the house. We generally just stay home if there is wind of any significance at home because we know it will be much worse on the water.

Yzer - Garlic Brothers earns its name. The taste of their food usually stays with you for awhile, although that wasn't the case with the salmon I had. I like garlic, but I'm usually done with it for awhile after a meal there.

Would you post a link to the slide show, or pm it, please? I'm bummed I didn't get to meet a bunch of Left Coast ROs in the flesh! I headed in the opposite direction to help out my girlfriend at her store in Redding on Saturday. Looks like a great time was had by all. Hope I can make it to the next rendezvous.

I got a quick email from Bill Wells. "You boatered folks will have your photo in the May Yachtsman mag."

Now we will all be famous!!!!! LOL

Yea, it is tough being a working stiff! LOL We did have a great time and you would have fit right in, except your boat would have been the only "fishing" style. But, that ok. We even accept folks without any boat on BoaterEd!!!!

If FlyWright had been there, Mitch would have had some 'fishy' company. While she's not exclusively a fishing boat, she is fishable. Next time...

I did get FlyWright running today. Spent the last two days in the engine room doing my half pretzel / half slinky imitation. Got the manifold and heat exchanger replaced. I thought the HE would be easy, since it was easy to remove....WRONG! The manifold was fairly easy to install. The HE has two hoses at each end and two mounting bolts which all have to line up and be connected almost simultaneously. What a job! Wish I had a few more hands. Anyway, got it done and took her out for a quick run next door to Willow Berm for the pump out. After my return, all checked out fine with no leaks. Just a couple more fixes (port prop and stbd fuel pump) and she'll be ready for summer. Bring on the fish!!

Al, good to hear you got her running. Is there still fish out there? Been awhile for me, about time to get the gear ready. By the way when do the strippers start running, or have they already.

Oh Dennis, you left me with a wide open shot across your bow! The 'strippers' only start running when you chase them in a police car.

Seriously, the stripers are always there. They can be caught all months of the year. If you ever want to join me on a trip on FlyWright chasing fish and good times, let me know. You're always welcome aboard.

As a side note, from the appearance on this board, it looks like we've all become talked out from out Spring Fling. The board traffic has died down since our outing together. In fact, we've become closer friends and have become Facebook friends. It's been great getting to know all you fine folks from this board. I look forward to many more trips together.

Al,

I was thinking the same thing. The board has been quiet and I still haven't heard back from Les regarding the change to your user name. I've been so busy at work and home, I've hardly had a chance to stick my head in. I did get out sturgeon fishing out of Martinez on Friday. Had good time with good friends but the only thing we caught was a buzz and some sun. Just got finished hosting a big Beeping Easter Egg Hunt for the visually impaired children in our area. It was very successful and we had a great afternoon. Everything's put away and we're leaving for Las Vegas in the morning!

Hope everybody has a great Easter!

Yea Al I know. I had a fifty fifty shot at getting it right. I even asked Mary how it was spelt, and she said to spell it that way. So it must be her fault.
Thanks for the invite, Iam always up for fishing, we will have to set something up sometime.

Dave, hope you have a good time in Vegas.
