Does that mean I have to get out of my pajamas?

I highly suggest you do. You will look awfully funny waxing your boat in feetie pajamas. I'm going to stay home and throw logs on the fire and fill my snow blower with gas.

I opened my boat yesterday :-) Had a beer under the wrap and it felt good!!!

Hull is done, buff magic followed by rejex. Fenders and lines are deployed, signed the launch orders and waiting for snow.

I'm beting they won't get me in this week which is fine with me.

Damn it was cold up there today.

Boat looks great. You will be laughing at all the rest when you are having a cocktail on board while all the others are getting theirs ready

Thanks Hank. Looking forward to that first drink of the 2014 season!

19 degrees this morning, "Springtime", my butt!

19? try 10 by me!!! :(

I just know I'm going to pay the price for pulling the cover in March.

Whenever we rushed to get in on April 15th or earlier the weather was always crappy and windy and not worth it.

For many years we were doing the first week in May launch.

We would be on land and watch the early launchers get rocked and rolled on the docks at SPBM.

This year looks like a first week in May year to me.

That would have been me you were watching get rocked around. I don't think I have ever been in later then April 1st. I can remember driving up the Palisades in a major snow storm to go out on D-Dock to clean the snow off my boat. It was easy since I always wintered inside. Not sure that will be a possibility moving forward but if it is, I will be all over it.

We are usually floating the first week in April. Yes, it can be cold and rocking, but when the weather suddenly turns and it's 80, we enjoy watching the people on land sweating bullets getting their boats ready. We also get a kick out of those who wait until the weather turns nice, then expect that their boats will be launched on a moment's notice.

If the weather was a tad bit warmer, I'd be working on mine already. Looks like I'll uncover this weekend and get in by mid-April.

Ok, starting Thursday you can take off your covers. Mother Nature will give in. No worries, you have my word on this. Would. I lie?

Thanks Hank, I took off Thursday and Friday because of you, so I can uncover the boat.

No fair I have to work:(
But I'm happy to have work these days.

I'm still waiting for the snow to melt so I can move the boat next to my garage so I can service it. The 6' snow piles by my garage put there by my snowplow guy are down to 2' and now are ice. Someday.

Forecast is for rain all weekend, looks like the cover stays on another week...

I would pull if its only rain. Boats going to get wet all summer. Use the sunny days (if we ever get any) to do the detailing

So I guess the Bowline party is cancelled?

In the summer, the bimini and side curtains are already up. Now, I have to pull the cover, take down the frame and put up the bimini and side curtains. I am not going to do this in the rain, getting myself and the entire cockpit soaked. There is no rush, as there is no warm weather in the foreseeable future.
