When you say "no option for sea trial", do you mean now?, when the survey is being done, or later, prior to closing and/or final payment?, or never? If you mean never, than much will depend on the boat and its power, though generally speaking, one should not purchase a powerboat without a thorough sea trial. Therefore, to answer your question directly, yes, there are issues...
You nailed it. No sea trials ever. They also want it off their property pretty quickly after closing. We haven't come to an agreed purchase price yet, still waiting.
I spoke wiht him about a boat and made an offer online that he countered with the lowest price the bank would consider which was too high for me so I passed. I'm sure he would have countered lower.
Mark, If the vessel is not sea-trialed under load conditions there could be undesirable conditions to deal with after the purchase. I would never advise anyone to buy a boat with out it.
FWIW, Commonwealth Brokers has been around for a long time and I don't recall any real negative posts about them here or other boating sites. In fact, just the opposite.
I won't swear to it, but didn't Mrs.Robinson just recently buy his boat there?
I do agree, buying a boat without a seatrial would scare me.
