Just a heads up. With the cold weather the way it is, moisture shows up on thermal images like a sore thumb. The time to check is while the boats are out.

what does that mean? How do you interpret the data?

rduhon,

You nailed it. The imager i use has a range from -18 deg. to +625 deg. Theres not much that can get past it. Its also great on machinery and electrical systems.

Here are some thermals to start with. I have to say this technology has made my job alot more intresting to say the least. I hope you guys enjoy the photos. Ill post more when i get the chance.

Al, next time you stop at our raft-up, could you check my cooler with that thing?

Mike, Dont worry, I have a natural way of testing. Just let me at it....

Butch, every time you test it, my beers disappear...

Thats because its not cold enough to last and dont want the beer to spoil.

Sure Mike id be glad to. Can't wait for spring. Winter is killing me this year. Hopefully this will be the last big snow.

But Al, what is that thermal image in your avatar? It looks kinda kinky to me.

You know Mike and Butch, not everything has to turn into a joke about drinking and partying. Al tried to make a posting that would augment our experience as boaters and give us a chance to take better care of our vessels. Your inability to be serious and mature is giving some of us a PB B-Dock a bad name.

Warren, I was not making a joke, I need to be sure that the temperature inside my cooler is uniformly cold. I am concerned that there might be some hot spots which could affect the "drinkability" of beverages within same cooler.

The fact of the matter is that, as the earth is constantly rotating, it IS always 5:00 PM somewhere. I could just as well as said it is always 7:00PM somewhere, but then you would never be awake!

I am sure that Butch's and my jocularity will have no effect whatsoever on your reputation for seriousness and sobriety

Warren, no need to apologize. Once you get to know us, you will understand completely. Try to stop by the marina once in a while, and when you do, be sure to say "hello" - Butch and I are the guys who are always there.
