Trojan 440

I got mine in 04.Any idea of how many where made? I have seen two other 440 here in Puget Sound, one is a hardtop. Unfortunately both of the could use some love and tender care. I have taken the BIG Trojan decals off my boat and it's interesting to see how many come up and ask if it's a new custom:)

Yes...during the first year or two of ownership, the Carver built 440's were much less trouble to their new owners. Working for a (former) dealer that sold many of them throughout their production, I can verify this (with repair orders if you'd like). That being said, once the issues were taken care of, the boats were virtually flawless from then on through the production run

Being that I bought Mine used I didn't not have to deal with any of these issue you speak of. I have nothing but great things to say about the boat. I have found it to be built like a tank handles like a dream I would mind the bigger motors but my fuel burn is great I have no complaints. I have enjoy several projects to dress it up. I have had a few thread with projects I have done, new helm and swim platform to name a few. I have no idea what my next boat will be but if it's built 1/2 as well I will be happy.

Mike Brooks welcome to the club although it seems as though you beat me to it. At this point I have met and been on 6 440s (counting mine)in my area plus the three additional on this site. I have no idea how many were made but I haven't met anyone that wasn't happy with theirs.

Them's some very nice boats.

The Trojan 440 and the Riviera 4000 Offshore w/hardtop are my picks for bestest Express boats.

You need to create a Photobucket account (it free) upload your pictures to their site and the open your album and place your pointer on a photo that you want to share, several options will appear next to it click on the IMG file it will copy a link just paste this link into your post and it will open in the thread for all to see. It sounds much harder then it is, after you have done this once or twice you will see that it's easy.

BTW I didn't make the swim platform I bought it he was nice enough to take some pictures during the build. I had it shipped to me I helped to install it "helped". The dash I removed and had a friend in the Auto body business paint it then I ordered Carbon fiber laminate and refinished it. I replaced the radar mid season last year so I will be doing so more work soon. I'm lucky that I enjoy these projects because I couldn't afford to pay someone else to do all the work.

I'm looking forward to seeing you pictures and an answer to several question about the cruising speed of your boat.

Great pictures, I carry my dink on the platform too.Mine came with a davit that is mounted on the portside aft, not in the garage, works well.
OK, I cruise at 23 knot, 1800 rpm with a fuel burn of 32g/hr. WOT it'll due 32 knots burning 56 gal/hr, I don't go there unless I have to:) I swing 30x34 props on 2 1/4 shafts.It's a heavy boat, lots of house batteries,bow thruster,fourstroke dink and the QMCs are not light.It was a little faster when I got it but it was over proped, it loaded the engines too much so I had the spare set repitched and that freed up the engines and just lost 1.5 knots at WOT. The electronics on the engines tell you a lot of what is going on and they are bullet prof.
 
Very impressive numbers she is a bit thirsty. I too have four blade 30x34 props I think I have 2 1/2 shafts though. I'm a bit lighter then your boat I believe about 4000 lbs. I would love to add a few house batteries I will put them on my wish list. I have a davit in the garage it is just long enough to swing my dink past the platform I added. Man, those 440's are beautiful boats. Imagine how many would have been sold if they said Sea Ray on the side...of course, then they wouldn't be a nice :-)
 
I like the fact that there a not a ton of them around. Most people that know the boats like the boats, the price seems to be somewhat more stable because there is not a huge supply. From what I have heard from several who have recently shopped for a clean one they are slim picking and still holding their own for price.
 
I can attest to that. The bargain basement units need a lot of work. And even then there are not many of those.
 
I'll see what I can do about pics this weekend.We keep our boats in the water year round, no ice. Mine is fortunately under cover in fresk water 3 min from my house so I spend some time there during our loooong rainy season. The lake is conected to the sound by a lock system.

Nice to have another Trojan member on the forum. Did you purchase it from the state of Washington? I recall there was one for sale back then with the QSM-11's. There were not that many made with them as it was an upgrade. We looked at one in 2007 with QSM-11's prior to purchasing ours with Volvo TAMD-74p's with 480hp each and a criuse speed of 27-28mph. My wife and children love our boat and say it feels like a second home with the warm Cherry interior and 32" screen tv. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions and welcome aboard.
